For what it's worth, if you have a Flybuys card and a few points saved up, and are interested in a new fitness band, check your offers. Currently at least for me it was showing 25% off Garmin products until 14th Feb. This means a Vivofit (the original, not the V2) is 15,375 points which, at 0.005 cents to a point comes to a total of $76.88. That has been found at that price or cheaper, so the bargain is the Vivosmart HR which is showing as 33,150 points which comes to $165.75. The price includes delivery.
They also have the Vivofit2 (21,450 points) and a few other Garmin products like the Vivoactive, Forerunner, and Approach. Strangely the Vivosmart (non-HR) band wasn't on the list.
Anyhow, I have an original Vivofit which I reckon is great - I love the +1 year battery life and not having to charge it regularly - but the convenience of having some mobile alerts and the continuous heart rate monitor (even if it's not as accurate as a chest strap version) may outweigh the annoyance of having to charge it every five days or so. Like my current band, this is also waterproof to 5ATM/50m which is another big plus in my book.
Anyhow, thought people might like to know. I haven't listed this as a deal as I suspect it may be targeted. The link that was sent to me only worked when I was logged in……
Bought the vivosmart for my mums birthday yesterday, unfortunately it's not compatible with her iPhone 4 so I connected it to my phone and I really liked it, shame it's too small for my wrist or I would have kept it!
