I thought it was a computer tower case at first going by the picture looked just like one.

  • Anyone know much about this brand. I also thought they were on the cheaper/lower quality side?

    • Hisense are a very big brand in China. All their stuff here seems to be reasonable but never very good on the star ratings for efficiency etc. Their warranties aren't too bad though.

      • Fair enough.

Seems to be quite hard to find much information on the unit. Triple glazing on the door and 3 year warranty is a plus. It appears to be a compressor unit however can't seem to see any information on anti vibrations measures, ability to build in or any reviews on temperature consistency.

        edit: product manual here http://hisense.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/HR6WC58D_au…

        • I agree, the 3yr warranty is a big plus, considering a lot of negative reviews on wine fridges in general are from them having issues after a year or 2.

And I much prefer the taller/slimmer look, rather than the short/wide ones.

        • @systmworks: Page 5 mentions a compressor

        • @nige0090: what technology do other wine fridges use? I have seen one using peltier technology which is silent except for a cooling fan..

        • @nige0090: OK. Im still not sure why you replied to me about compressor on page 5, as I didnt mention (or know) if it had a compressor, and not sure if its good or bad that it has one?

          https://www.vintecclub.com/wine-cabinets-compressors-vs-ther…

"As the leading supplier in climate-controlled wine cabinets and with over 30 years of experience in wine storage, we only ever recommend considering wine cabinets equipped with compressor systems, especially given Australia’s extreme climate. This applies for both cellaring and serving cabinets."
