I used Easus ToDo Backup when I cloned my HDD to a SSD to upgrade my laptop

Intel provides a free data migration tool, perhaps look into that?

  • ^ this. I used it moving to my Intel ssd. Worked like a charm.

  • I just used Macrium Reflect to clone my HDD to an SSD.

    Worked fine.

  • For me the best and free is:
    http://www.farstone.com/software/drive-clone.php

Free, does all the adjustments including boot keys for windows 8 and 10.
    Insert, click, enjoy.

  • Just curious to know if the following will work

    1) Make image of current SSD
    2) Install new SSD and install windows onto it
    3) copy the image onto the newly installed SSD

I'm looking to upgrade my SSD next year and would like to know for when the time comes.

  • thanks might use the free data migration tool

Clonezilla. Plus both in, do a 1:1 device clone. 240gb will take about 10 minutes at most with 2 SSDs
