  Hi Guys, why do companies do this kind of bullshit like give you cashback (which you get after 2 months), free movie tickets, free gift etc instead of just offering a discount on actual product?

    Because they can say the movie tickets have a value of $20 each (x2 = $40 "value"), even though they have cost Canon say $5 or even less (free?) each. So they could for instance offer this promotion as being "$40 value" when it has only cost them $10.

    Is example of perceived value being higher than the actual cost

  Can't see anything in the T&C's that says that it is only redeemable once per customer. Therefore I am assuming it is one claim per eligible printer purchased. Since I purchased two printers in the same transaction (for me and a gift) then I am submitting the claim twice with the same receipt. Hopefully they honor it both times so I can include the tickets with the gift.
