A good 42-50" TV with Plex

Hi,

I want to replace my really old plasma in the living room that is just a cheap 1080p that i got for $299 a few years back. I use WDlive to watch stuff off my computer. I also have a nice led Samsung that i bought for like $850 because at the time it was the only one that supported plex.

so the new one needs to support plex and no real any other requirement apart form that. I do not want it to be UHD there is no content and i dont stream - so its extra $$ for nothing. netflix, presto, ect. would be a bonus but not mandatory, and i do not want an android OS per se, it needs to be easy to use, i bought a chrome cast once and it was too hard to even set up and now i dont have an adroid device so using it is impossible.

if i can get a quad core it would be good, but anyone have some idea of a good tv for a good price, nothing over a grand, and nothing really really dirt cheap.

oh and wifi would be good too built in in case i dont want to hook up the network cable just to make it cleaner.

ps, a few Hdmi connections, say at least 3 would be good, more the better, 4 ideal 5 just grea, for the xbox , ps3, apple tv, and what ever else i wants, like the laptop out. dual tv tuner card would be nice and a few usb input ports to record on.

cheers

  • We have both a Samsung and Sony smart TV and plex runs well on both. Both TVs are wireless and use the Plex App downloaded via their applicable 'stores' for free.

  • which model? i want value for cash, 100hnz would be good or more amd 4hdmi ports

  • Get a decent non-smart TV and plug in an Xbox 360. 360 can handle HDDs, Plex, YouTube, you name it. More smart than any smart TV out there..

  • Even look at getting a Nexus Player / Apple TV , Both Support Plex too

  • i dont want an extra box, i dont want to

    1. wait for the box to load, ie xbox is too clunky to ge too it.

my 32" Samsung lets me change the source direct from the main menu once it books up, i want it to be simple, no extra power packs ect,.. and exbox i hardly use…

im looking to simplify my life and getting rid of one device.

    cheers
