I would love to know what the background was to the naming of that Icecream. I laugh everytime I listen to the Flintstone theme song. "We'll have a Gay ol' time".

The ice cream is from 1959 and The Flintstones is from 1960. Gay isn't really used now like it was back then but the ice cream and cartoon have such a lasting popularity that they've kept the expression having a gay time alive long past its cultural relevancy.
I do know that; although it now has apparently changed to mean something different again.

When i was about 3-4 years old my neighbour who was alot older had jokingly called me gay but would not tell me what it meant.

Most Red Royalty promotions are sent out to only a certain number of members, so it is often random chance as to whether you will get any one particular promotion. I'm afraid if you did not receive an email regarding the Gaytime promotion then you were not one of the members to receive it.
