Where can I buy some really really comfortable duvet?

I was browsing Muji today and saw they have some really soft high quality duvet. Really wanted to take one home with me but I looked at the price tag and it was like $600-$700! o_O

Can't afford this but was wondering where else can I purchase some good quality comfortable duvet?

  • Did you read the label to find out what it was made of? (and percentage)

From what I understand, it depends on what you want in the duvet. eg super soft? super fluffy and thick? really warm, really cool, adjusts its own temperature, feels heavy and snug, or light and airy?

All of these are factors in choosing the type of duvet, its filling / material etc, and finally the quality.

Personally, I wanted something light and fluffy, but could keep me warm, and also stay mostly cool in summer. And I wanted it to be really dreamy/cloud-like fluffy. I bought an 80% goose down / 20% duck feather duvet, and it is AH-MAY-ZING. It did cost me $300 though, ouch, but I expect it to last for many years.

In the past I had a wool quilt for $150ish, which was fine except it was sooo thin. Very warm and great quality, but very thin (despite being "high-loft quilt"). So yes it depends on what you prefer in your duvet!

Also take into consideration maintenance / ease of use.. some duvets you need to air them out or fluff them up regularly, others you don't. Some can be machine-washed and others can't. And so on.

FYI I bought mine at Manchester Warehouse which has a huge range (in Rockdale, NSW - close to the airport), and best of all they had most of the duvets on display so you could touch and feel them. They also had a great sale on while I was there.

    Good luck!
