  • Is that all skincare suncare?

    • Excludes ego and skincare vitamins and minerals.

      • -1

Bahaha … don't tell me: it's vitamins for your skin? Ludicrous what people will swallow lel … or pointlessly rub on themselves as the case may be.

  • +4

OP should add it's for 27th and 28th Jan.

  • Was waiting for it to be confirmed thanks :D

  • Hooray!!! I have been waiting the 40% off for over half year. Can someone please recommend some good brand?

    • +2

      La roche posay, uriage, avene

      • Thank you :)

      • What attributes makes these items superior?

        • I cant say for sure, but I know that La roche posay has had great feedback, its meant to be good at treating acne.

QV (don't mistaken this for JV). JV has already been discounted! :)

      • +2

Ego brands (i.e., QV) are excluded.

Edit: This may apply to both :)

        • +2

Yeah i've never seen QV or ego included unfortunately.

      • Somehow I read JV has already been "discontinued". lol

Sukin is also very good, especially if you care about "ethical" ingredients (no palm oil etc)

      • +1

The night creme's great and cheap too!

      • +1

Their foaming face wash is so good! It is like $6 on the 40% sale. The smell is quite pleasant too.

      • +1

Thanks Pennae, Yes the ethical ingredient is absolutely important! Since I learned about the Indonesia deforestation for the oil palm plantation. Palm oil has became a no-no ingredient for me.

      • Sukin shampoo, hand cream, face cream, body wash all great, time to stock up!

  • Does anyone know if Dermaveen products are part of this sale??

    • Yeap has been in the past

      • Thanks…I am looking for Bodywash….

        • If you're looking at the extra gentle soap free wash, then yes. Not 100% sure about the rest

        • @bjorncyz: yes that's what I am looking for…

In their last goodie bag, they had a product called klara. That was the brand. The product is called reset. I do not know what ingredient makes it work but it is like an instant liquid microdermabrasion. It is a gel and u rub a small amount in your face, after a few seconds of swirling, the dead outer layers of your skin ball up into tubes, revealing newer skin beneath. I tried it once five times in a row and eventually my skin did turn a little pink, but seriously this product is so gentle and effective. I have been waiting for it to go on sale. I think 50ml is about $35 normally. I will buy several of these tubes. They are black and there are reviews on the Priceline website as well as elsewhere. Thanks op.

    • +2

This product sounds like the equivalent of a Japanese product called 'Cure Natural Aqua Gel' which does exactly the same thing and probably won't turn your skin pink. It's also a lot cheaper than Klara Reset, 250ml for around $45-50 with shipping on most beauty sites.

This sort of product has been around for years in Asian skin care. I use Laneige multiberry (formerly strawberry) peeling gel. Etude also have a similar peeling gel wash. However I just found out the multiberry contains microbeads so I guess I will be finding an alternative! Check the ingredients of your product carefully as microbeads can have several names.

    • I normally use this for exfoliation:
      http://au.iherb.com/Azelique-Age-Refining-Skin-Polish-3-oz-8…
but now I am tempted to try one of these strange peeling gel things. I have super sensitive skin so as always, I'm not sure though. Maybe I'll try the tiny 12ml sample size.

      • Look for Gommage peels, they're very gentle.

Stay away from anything with physical exfoliants, as they'll pretty much rip your skin to shreds.

    • +1

That sounds very much like a product using chemicals to burn your skin off rather than anything else. That's at the other end of "gentle" on the spectrum in case your wondering.

You sound like you have some sort of mental illness by doing it 5 times in a row, what was the point of that exactly?

      • +1

what was the point of that exactly?

        Age faster?

        OCD?

        For effect?

    • +1

Please don't do this 5 times. You're stripping your skin if it's turning pink and irritating it.
Definitely look at Cure though- I'm using it at the moment and it's very gentle.

  • Would this include baby skin care like oil and moisturiser ?

  • Any idea if bioderm is included?

    • It's not specifically excluded.

I shop at a website called Cosmetic Capital
    www.Cosmeticcapital.com.au

Great if youre not a specific brand junkie. Saved a shitload on various products - bought enough nailpolish, makeup, cleansers, moisturisers, facewash etc, to last a couple of years for $70 - retail was $317 for the same products.
Best buy was Ponds Anti-Aging eye cream - priceline was $30, this site was $4.
    Flat rate postage $6.50 too!

Oh, and when you join up, first order is 20% off if you use code 'welcome2015' at checkout.

(I did two orders, and used an alias email address for the second one, and got another 20% discount on that order :-)

    • Note - obviously it doesn't have all brands ……..

    • +2

How are the expiry/manufacture dates? I noticed there's a lot of products that haven't been sold at retails for some years now.
I've seen old foundations where the liquid has separated into two phases.

      • I should have a shipment delivered by end of today - I'll let you know…
Doesn't say anything on the items about them being near expiry date, and normally places would have that.
I do know the "Garnier Skin Naturals Clean Detox All Skin Types Brightening Foam With Pure Lemon Essence 100ml" is exactly the same as that bought here, except its made in Indonesia - I bought some of this from Bali for the $4 price a couple of years ago, and that was good quality and nowhere near expiry either.

  • Thank you very much. I saved over 150 in things I need to treat my skin condition.

Here is some advice from a dermatologist:

There are 3 actions that age the facial skin:

    1) sunlight

    2) negatively charged ions

    3 movement

Here are the solutions in order to mitigate them:

    1) apply any 15+ sunscreen before exposing skin to sunlight

    UV radiation degrades skin.

    2) clean face once or twice a day with ph balanced cleanser, Dove soap works as good as anything else.

Urban dwellers and the exceptionally impoverished live in a soup of pollution that arises, basically, from burning things. through some action that i do not understand this reacts with skin and ages it. if you want to know why people in the country appear healthier and younger this is it.

    3) avoid exercise that jerks the face up and down such as jogging, avoid facial movement as much as possible. This is what Botox treatments mitigate.

These are the only things that have a anti-aging effect short of plastic surgery.

There is no cleanser that works better than soap. There is no cream that has an anti-aging action despite hundreds of products appealing to your emotions to say otherwise. Moisterisers are purely and only cosmetic, they do not have any anti-aging action.

    • Plus lots of water!

    • I agree with most, except Surely the soap you use to wash hand can be a little too harsh on your face, esp if you have sensitive skin. I wouldnt say moisturiser is only for cosmetic, you don't wear sunscreen in bed do you?

    • Doesn't DOVE soap have a pH of 7? low pH cleansers are much better

    • I use Shea butter ( unrefined) as moisturizer. It hydrates skin better than any moisturizer I've tried, it's non comedogenic plus no chemicals. Also, try sleeping on satin/silk pillowcase (kogan sell ovela ones), helps moisture to stay in hair and skin - cotton draws moisture out, I noticed immediate difference.

  • Why are qv moiturisers not discounted? Are they better than others like cetaphil and deermaveen?

  • Thanks for this. Just picked up a bunch of Nuxe and Rodial products.

    • The Nuxe oil smells so good.

  • +2

On a side note anyone have any recommendation for any good cream for eye dark circles. Staying up late and checking ozbargain is taking a toll on my eyes.

  • Any cleanser better than the Cetaphil one?

    • Try the Sukin foaming cleanser!

      • Are the sukin brand skincare any good ? They r supposed to be natural ?

        • Yeah it is awesome :) gentle and Australian made too! They all smell wonderful. The cleanser isn't too drying either.

  • Dermaveen 1L Moisturiser or Soap Free Wash coming down from $20 to $12 is a good deal.

Chem Warehouse's specials for Dermaveen 1L is about $13.50.

  • Essano summer perfector 4 pack is a bargin. Originally $34 now $10.49 great pressie.
    https://www.priceline.com.au/brand/essano/essano-summer-skin…

  • Which sunscreen is physical and not chemical? I couldn't find any.

      or

wotnot (from chemist warehouse) wotnot doesn't have bad preservatives in it but its very greasy.

      • Christ those are expensive! They're about 2x the price of chemical ones. Had no idea there was such a price difference.

  • -1
