Please Help Me Find a New Touchscreen Laptop Ideally 15.6" That Is Affordable and Decent Specs Budget Under $600

I'm going to be starting uni soon and I hope to find a new decent touchscreen laptop without having killer specs - just specs that can no problem during work. I don't mind HD screen or battery life, but I have a thing for touchscreens. I don't mind any laptop brands.

I missed out the Dell $699 deal :(
Please help me find a bargain!!!!

  • Was in a similar position to you at the end of 2014.

Did HEAPS of research but ended up getting Acer v7-582p for 679$. No regrets. Not sure what models are currently out but check out acers. Was best bang for buck compared to the other brands.

Had touchscreen, 8gb ram, no optical drive (I wanted it as light as possible for a 15), 4200u processor. Was perfect.

Just make sure you budget 100$ for an ssd

Just saw this. The edge 14 for 665 seems ok

    • that's not a touch screen

      • Good point

From another post … 4 inches off your ideal.

Teclast X16 Power or Teclast X16 Pro. Basically same specs but Chinese from an established player. X16 Pro is x5 z8500 / 4GB and Power is x7 z8700 / 8GB. Both are 11.6" FHD displays. Pro is US$300 and Power is US$350.

  • You would be hard pressed to find a 15.6" touch at that price. Best I can do is ASUS T300FA-FE010H Core M-5Y10 12.5". $599 + $16 shipping (Melbourne).

    Don't mind an older factory refurb? Maybe the Asus S500CA-CJ010H 15.6" Core i3-3217U. $507 + $18.29

    • On second thought. This looks even better. 15.6" Acer OLCI38G62 V5-572P-33228G62

      • 15.6” Multi-Touch HD LED 1366 x 768
      • Core i3 3227U @1.9GHz
      • 8GB RAM / 128GB SSD + 500GB HDD
      • Intel HD Graphics 4000
      • No ODD
      • 802.11 abgn / Bluetooth v4.0

      • Do you think it's good value (sorry I know nothing about laptops) and is there a big difference between Full HD and HD? Thanks

  • Nah the processor is outdated in that laptop.

Look at the bottom of that page for the Inspiron 5000s. They're 619$ with the latest gen processor (I-6200u) 3 generations newer than the one in the link above.
