Optus refusing to honour $10 TPG porting discount

Hi all,

I signed up for optus using this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223011. I recieved my sim, went on online chat to activate the sim where I was assured I would only be paying $30 per month ($20 discount above plus the $10 discount for porting from TPG that many others seemed to recieve too). Second bill arrives and there is no $10 porting discount. I called optus who said that the $10 discount wasn't available in conjunction with the above offer.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the TPG offer by any chance, so I can take this up to the TIO?

    Just spoke to a rep, if you port over a number from another telco and bundle it to your Optus home broadband account, you'll be able to get the plan for $30 instead of $40

    Did you just port over, or are you already a broadband customer?

    Ah here:

    if you're moving from tpg, you get a $10 porting offer=$30/mth, not $40!!! winning!!!

    But then a reply to that:

    Called up Optus and they are not offering this. They said that offer expired on 28 November and was never part of this deal. Pushed them and asked them to speak with managaer but no joy for $10 off with TPG porting.

    Nothing on that post seems really 'concrete' about the $10 discount. I certainly wouldn't have hedged my bets on it without having screenshots etc :/

    I will definitely be taking a screenshot next time :) But just seeing if anyone else did for this deal. I went on the Optus website before I signed up and it said that the discount was eligible with all current offers, but didn't screenshot that. I do have a screenshot of my online chat with optus initially saying I was eligible for both but they are saying now that the employee was incorrect.
