BingLee eBay Store Blocked Me :)

Hi fellow bargain hunters i'm Scott from Sydney.
I have been following the good hints offered by OzBargain members over the years and decided to join up as a card carrying member a short time ago.
Let me say up front that you are all cheap and need to be locked up ;)
My Binglee experience repeated a DickSmith experience to a tee.
Both times i bought from their eBay store clic & collect.
I payed for the items, turned up when requested, but no item to collect.
So what! Mistakes happen.
However, the Binglee manager didn't believe i paid for the item.
He pretty much accused me of fabricating the transaction.
Their system is horrible, it relies on a scrap of paper they keep on the counter as record of sale.
I had to stand in Carlingford Binglee and spend an hour and liaison with their online people.
Eventually they instructed the manager to hand over the item.
Even then he was unable to process the order.
I had to walk out empty handed (had to go to work) and left them negative feedback.
It was 5 days before Christmas and i was the ONLY customer in the store.
In this mans opinion, Binglee are struggling; probably why now the 20% storewide eBay sale is on.
So i decided today to clic & collect from a different Binglee store and take advantage of the 20% sale.
When i tried to checkout i got a message "Sorry, the seller isn't accepting bids or offers from you at this time."
I have been banned from Binglee eBay lol.
Leaving negative feedback will get you banned.
Binglee should consider feedback as 'feedforward'
It's a way of looking forward on how to fix broken practices.
Dicksmith could not sell me a TV.
Binglee had 4 staff and could not sell me a set of $85 headphones.

    Did you show them the order number and that the order was to be collected email?

    Sounds ridiculous and like there is a lot more to the story. Especially since you have been banned from more than one store which I have never heard of before.

    Oh well if there's one thing I've learnt it's that the customer is not always right. In fact about 20% of customers are too much of a PITA to deal with so one should ban them.

    • It's their eBay store, which means that it's not store specific. A lot of eBay sellers will block buyers who leave negative feedback by adding their username to the "blocked" list. It's quite easy to do

  • I agree that the Bing Lee system for validating online orders is a bit antiquated, but Ive used them 3-4 times recently with ebay transactions without fault. Ive had the order number and pickup confirmation with me, and thats been accepted without issue. Perhaps its store dependant

    Start a new ebay account would be my advice… if you're just purchasing from shops you don't need to keep a feedback score going

    Pretty dodgy for them to ban you though over a trivial matter

  • Yes it does sound ridiculous Diji1. I am not sure that you understand how eBay clic & collect works Diji1. Binglee eBay is one store, all their stores act as one.
    The actual specifics were that the item that was meant for me was sold to/ another customer. Somehow my order was junked and in a strange twist deleted from their online system.
    When i pulled out my phone and showed the email the order number was non existent in their system and manager raised eyebrows.
    The way we solved it was to retrace the transaction day and time from my bank.
    In any case the specifics are what they are.
    It's plain and simple, leave negative feedback, justified or not, you WILL be banned by binglee.
    If i worked for their upper management i would rather hear and act on the failings rather than ban and block.
    Got my Sony super cheap with wall mount via wife account.

      looks like theres a good chance im gonna get banned then, lol. not thrilled with there rate of shipping.
