This is a great app but if it's anything like the Android version, it's pretty naggy about those in-app purchases.

    • Yep the IOS one does the same thing. If they packaged it all up for $5 I would be in.

    • What type of in-app purchases?

      • There's Tab Pro which has interactive tabs with playback and Guitar Tools which has metronome, tuner and chord library.

    • Is the Android version worthwhile without purchasing anything? Alternative suggestion?

You can still search for chords/tabs/bass for almost any song you can think of and bookmark them in your favourites. I use it all the time. Sometimes some of the versions of the tabs or chords for a song are a bit off but there's a user-voted star rating which usually gives a good idea of which one to go for.

        • Thanks, I'll get it then :)

Edit, aww, Android still costs money :(

I bit the bullet and bought the android version for use on my tablet/phone. It is somewhat worthwhile if you don't have a computer at hand to browse their website. My opinion of UG app for android is that it's great for searching for exactly the song you want- it makes your desired song reasonably accessible by providing multiple versions of tablature in a device-optimised format. My main gripes with the app are the infamously persistent ads for it's 'pro' features that I am not interested in and the inability to search through the entire library of an artist like you can on the website. That said, I think the basic paid version is worthwhile for me- it still does the job. As for alternatives, there are many; both paid and free. Google is your best friend

  • I thought this app is always free with heaps of in app purchases, any free IAP packs?

  • Cheers

  • Any apps for teaching you how to play the recorder??

  • Showing as $4.49 in the AU store, but free in the US store. Or is it just me?

  • Yeah I get $4.49 for the one linked above, but Pro version looks to be free now? (came up just below in App Store search)

    • The 'pro' version has always been free

  • It's saying the item is currently being modified, try again later. :(
