Where to Sell Old and Rare Books?

Hey there,
I have recently come into possession of a few rare books from the late 19th and very early 20th century which I believe hold quite a lot of value.
Does anyone know how/where I'd be able to possibly sell these books?
Also, does anyone know how to get them appraised?

Thanks

  • Check with your state library?

  • Try museums or state libraries.
Come to the University of Sydney's Rare Books and Special Collections Library and ask staff.

  • Abebooks is where collectors online get their books.

  • Hi Jordanzac,

I've used biblio to look for out of print books in the past. I went to their website and found a list of their bookstores which sell books via biblio. You can see if any of them are interested in your books. http://www.biblio.com/bookstores/australia/

If you want a listing by state, use this link to search Australia and select a state:

Also see if you can find your book via the search to give you an indication of value:
