    any special on the 1.5TB?

Nice price but $19 p&p is pretty steep for such a small item.

Good price if you're in WA. Otherwise, postage of $19 to other states doesn't make this as attractive.

With postage still good compared to staticice prices.

However, the attempt to charge 5% insurance on top of $19 is a scam. There is no postage service that costs $15 (even allowing them a $4 margin on postage) for a single HDD that wouldn't include insurance.

    Still a positive on price.

  • Will this be good for DLink 343, I have this waiting for the 2TB to go down in price.

  • I'm looking at getting 4 x 2TB drives. I just assumed I'd get the Samsung EcoGreens but now with these under the $200 pricepoint I'm very tempted. And $19 for all 4 isn't too bad I think. I reckon I'll skip the insurance though, bit steep.

Going to go check reviews but I'm guessing WD is the best pick. Will report back with my findings :)

    UPDATE:
Preliminary checks of reviews reveal the WD Green slightly slower than Samsung Green. 90MB/s v 85MB/s read. Although WD has double the cache. End of the day both would be worthy drives I think. And this is the right price.

  • I bought 3 of these a while ago, for $274, I should of waited.
They are good drives. Be aware that these drives use 4k sectors. If you are using windows XP or Linux you will need to make sure you follow the instructions on how to format these. Otherwise you could get seriously degraded performance.

    • I hear WD and Samsung 2TB's have issues running in RAID. Do you know anything about that? As I would be buying 4 and later 2 more to run in a RAID5 array. I'm thinking I should now hold off and wait till some raid reviews have been done
