I'm thinking of joining hard candy gym but don't know what the annual fee is. I have attended several classes but not yet ready to talk to sales representative as I'm not sure of how much I could negotiate it down. If anyone here is a member please provide some information that could assist.
Wouldn't it be better to talk to the rep straight away? That way if the price is super high you can be genuinely astounded and do "the walk away"
oh this is perfect for me. im changing offices and someone suggested i check out HC. having been there yet but omg so many classes!! it's gonna be steep
There seems to be a 9:1 ratio of women vs men there. Could be partly due to the gym name.
If you can manage to negotiate it down to $15 per week that would be pretty good. However few suggestions remember you do get what you pay for - so I noticed during Nov, Dec and Jan there are about 1/5 Th of the classes compared to virgin and a branch of fitness first considering there are about 5 fitness first around that area you need to seriously consider that.
The hygiene is not fantastic from personal experience the showers seemed to be not that clean and sometimes there is no wipes for a yoga mat.
The instructors are pretty good of course they usually don't correct you if you are kind of wrong - very wrong and they will tell you to fix the posture.
Also anything the sales person says he'll give you that's not tangible just ignore once you hand the money over that's it.
You didn't ask for the review just the price but I do think not everything is here about price (ie the caged egg debate)
If you have friends if they refer you they get extra month otherwise you can buy the membership off gum tree.

Thanks for all that information. I did notice similar things about the toilets/showers, but I would much rather use the one at my office. I have yet to try out the yoga class but I have my own mat so I'm not too fussed about that. I only plan to go about 1-2 times a week and the amount of classes at the moment seem ok to me. Are you a member of this gym or the fitness first nearby? If you can recommend others in the area that would be great as this one is about 4 min walk from my office.
4 mins circumference is quite broad so difficult to work out which one is closer
If you are a person that's flexible (ie you don't have set meetings in place and can get changed walk 4 mins then walk another 2 mins to the classroom (depends on how fast you are at walking 3 flight of stairs) this is worth it for you.
For potentially $15 for 2 sessions is still a great price. Just remember once you hand over the money don't expect you back.
did you end up joining Hard Candy? how are you finding it? and what was the price you ended up getting?
I haven't joined yet as i'm still using my 10 visit pass. I like the classes they offer, havent used any of the gym equipment. Will look into joining in the next few weeks. There is one sales guy there with blond hair I'm trying to avoid as he seems to be dodging questions on one of the sales pitches I observed. Let me know how you go with yours.
