beat me by 28 seconds….well 28 seconds and the time it took to search and submit…

at the office at 7, my morning routine is ozbargain :)

      • +4

        ^^^ doing it right :)

    • +2

      Don't forget 28 degrees

  • +5

Thanks OP. Might be worth updating to state that the Civilization : Beyond Earth - Rising Tide DLC is only a voucher for 33% off.

    • +1

      done :)

      • +1

Further to this, perhaps add more information.

on steam it says rising tide is ' $29.99 USD ', so if $15 gets you a 33% off coupon, then that means you need to spend $15 to get the coupon and then pay another $20usd for the game.

I understand that you get everything else in the bundle, but perhaps others are in my circumstance and would just like that particular DLC. For $15!! sweet deal, but… if my above math/assumptions are correct then it is no way a good deal for me.

        • I found out humble bundle voucher I got for other bundle (not this bundle) only applicable in humble bundle site and not steam site.

  • +1

Amazing bundle. Full Xcom pack and Civ 5 for $12 aud is incredible. I've been searching for enemy within for a year and haven't been able to find it under $10.

    • +1

Yeah, I've been looking for Enemy Within for cheap as well and haven't found it. Unfortunately I have all the Civs (other than BE) and the other XCOM DLC, so it's still $12 for just Enemy Within for me. Not sure I'm likely to play it all that much with XCOM 2 coming out…

      • You can try to sell keys you won't use at a keystore marketplace like G2A?

        • Usually you just get 1 key for everything, so you can't split.

        • +2

@zzyss: They stopped doing single keys a long time ago.

        • +1

          @zzyss:
Ah righto, the last bundle (square enix) were all seperate keys..I guess it's to prevent selling the keys off, you get 1 a key for each tier.

        • I suppose I could, but then if I was going to do that I could just buy Enemy Within from G2A. However I really don't like the key reselling sites, so if anything I'd just find friends to give the extra keys to.

        • @CarbonTwelve:

Oh OK. Didn't know that. Thanks!

        • @CarbonTwelve:

So what would happen if I'm only missing 1 game from the tier and I redeemed the Steam key?

        • @designate: I'm not sure what you mean? As I said, they stopped doing single keys a long time ago. You'll be able to claim the specific key for whichever game you want.

        • @CarbonTwelve:

When you buy this bundle, you get 1 key per tier. so Tier 1 I get 1 key which unlocks

          XCOM: Enemy Unknown
          Sid Meier's Pirates
          Ace Patrol Bundle
          Civilization III Complete

If I'm only missing 1 game out of that bunch, what will happen if I redeem it on Steam?

http://imgur.com/gZ2LDVB <—- from my keys page

        • @designate: Oh really? I'm sorry, I haven't actually bought this one, but have been buying all their recent bundles. I'm very surprised they've gone back to 1 key per tier again.

Looking through their bundle page I found this:

NOTE: Keys in this bundle are packaged together by tier and cannot be separated. Redeeming packaged keys on Steam will not produce Steam gifts for items already in your library.

This makes me even less likely to buy this bundle. Not being able to gift the individual games I already have essentially means I really would be paying $12 just for Enemy Within, and I could've done that any other time it went on special.

        • @CarbonTwelve:

Yup..I just paid $15 for Enemy Within =\
          Will update the deal

        • +1

@designate: if you are only missing one game the tier key will activate that missing game, it won't error that you already own some of the games so don't worry you can still redeem with no issues.

      • After having recently pirated Civ4 and 5, I felt obliged to buy this. Can confirm that you recieve one steam key for each "tier" that you purchase. So you can't sell individual games, only bundles based on the tiers.

        • Yup, I uploaded the screenshot and updated the original post

  • Which game is not included in a past bundle?

    • Civ BE and XCOM Enemy Within haven't been in bundles before. I think most of the others have?

      • Yes you are right.
I already have Civilization 3, 4, 5, Pirates and Ace Patrol in a past bundle.

  • +2

    Great price.

I see Sid Meier and cry that there was never a new Golf.

    • +1

I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked SimGolf. I felt like it was a really good management sim, yet I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention it since it came out.

  • +8

I always only pay $1 for Tier 1 games as by the time I (am ever able to) clear my steam backlog, the Tier 2/3 games can already be bought for $1 again.

    • +2

      I like that logic!

    • +1

OzBargaining skills are strong with this one.

A buck for XCOM is totally worth it. If you're into that type of game or were a fan of the original I think people would like it.

  • The price For 2nd grade Hideously increment step by step to $8.37. Sneaky kinda like pearl harbor

    • $8.42 now

      • 8.63 now.
        Regret that I postpone/delay the purchase when it's 7.88

        • economy is bad now 1c US = 3c AUD
hurts seeing the price go up.

        • +2

          @designate:

          1c US = 3c AUD

          What year is that?

          I thought 1c US = 1.5c AUD?

        • @fomal:

Look at monica (Ms. Literal here)

        • @fomal:

          my bad

          $0.01 USD = $0.014 AUD

Since the first three tiers were 90302, 303 and 304, there is speculation that the games to be added are:

    X-COM: Terror from the Deep
    X-COM: Apocalypse
    X-COM: Interceptor
    X-COM: UFO Defense
    X-COM: Enforcer
Sid Meier's Civilization V: Scrambled Continents Map Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization V: Scrambled Nations Map Pack

    https://steamdb.info/sub/90303/apps/
    https://steamdb.info/sub/90304/apps/

    https://steamdb.info/sub/90305/apps/

I'm tempted in sneaking one past the missus, but there are so many games I already own and one key is a bit of a waste :(

  • Worth it for Civilization: Beyond Earth? Was never going to pay the absurd price for it, but this might be cheap enough. I already have Civ 3,4,5.

    • +1

Look at the disqus most helpful comment at the end of the page
      Metacritic

"I'm sorry but this was a rather paltry review in terms of quality. I'm not saying this review alone can gauge your abilities, but this piece feels rather uninspired. You did not talk about intrigue or the new spy systems in place, or many of the new wonders or delve deeper into the tech tree. You explained many of the already known systems, affinities, and factions and told us how you played them.

I understand not every review needs to be an in-depth analysis of a game, but from the beginning it was already going off to a bad start. Saying you felt it was too much like Civ 5, played like Civ 5, and then you got your ass handed to you so you had to re-assess the way you were playing. This makes it sound like you were rapidly clicking through the game during another boring day in the office. You did eventually dive into some more of the advanced prospects that we Civilization fans were looking for, but even from what coverage is already out there it seems you only chose to scratch the surface of these new systems.

There's the favor system, spies, new wonders, the way you upgrade units now, and it seems like you didn't give these the proper time of day to appreciate what they really had to offer. I was expecting to read a review from a Civilization 5 fan that was looking forward to Beyond Earth, instead I read a review with information that's already out there, and a clouded view from a reviewer of what they were expecting going in."

I haven't played the Rising Tide DLC but probably not.

Beyond Earth pales in comparison to even vanilla Civ 5. It's lacking a serious amount of polish in just about every aspect. I would never call it a spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri.

The gameplay is unbalanced because of how broken trade routes and espionage are.
There is somehow less unit variety (no submarines, no nukes, no bombers, all the affinity units are very samey).
All the factions are basically identical, both in bonuses and in lore. Generic ethnic blobs.
Less variety in terrain and resources.
      Almost every wonder is worthless.
The tech-web is boring in terms of science fiction. So many technologies are just Xeno-whatever.
Civ 5 had these amazing diplomacy screens in single player with multiple lines of recorded dialogue in the actual language.
Plus really good music for every civilisation.
Civ BE has different coloured shirts for different affinities and the same line of English dialogue over and over.
The ideologies in Civ 5 are much more unique than the affinities in Civ BE.

If you would really enjoy playing a mod for Civ 5 buy it when all the DLC is released and on sale.

  • Beyond Earth and Eneny Unknown seems worthwhile for the 15. I have a few of the other titles already the others can pad out my library

As a reminder 2k have a liking for charging Australian customers through the nose.

If you find it as annoying as I do, you can set the slider to ensure they receive an appropriate sum.

  • Tier 2 is currently $14 AUD.

Lowest price for Enemy Within on sale has been $12.49 AUD according to SteamPrices.

So if you want just that game it's no longer immediately worth it…

  • I might consider parting with $1 if they had UFO: Enemy Unknown just for the sake of it. XCOM, meh.

  • When do you get the keys? I bought it and nothing yet..

  • -3

I had firaxis but applied some lotion and the burning stopped ;-)

  • Does this work for Mac OSX…? Especially keen for civ 3… all my childhood memories are flooding back.

    • Most games from the bundle are cross platform but civ 3 is not

Taken from the bottom of the page:

Cross-platform and on Steam. All games in this bundle are available on Steam for Windows. Most titles in this bundle are also available on Steam for Mac and Linux. Please check out the full system requirements here prior to purchasing.

  • Bought and about to waste a LOT of time on this collection of games!

  • Note - Purchasing this bundle will give you 1 key per tier.

Eh? So if you buy Tier 3 you get 3 keys for every game?

    • 3 keys for 3 tiers
top tier is tier 3 and you get all, check the screenshot

      • I'm having difficulty understanding it. Do you only get one copy of each game, or 3 copies of each game?

Is it any different from how it normally is with every other HB?

        • No, 1 key per tier
Eg tier 1 gets you those 4 games so tier 1 key unlocks the 4 games under tier 1

        • @designate: I get it now. Thanks.

I guess that makes it quicker to claim them, but you can't give individual codes to someone else.

  • I got it for xcom and I am really enjoying this game so far. I was into the Civ franchise once upon a time but prefer paradox games for my strategy fix these days. Probably wont install BE but it's a plus 1 to my library count so I'll take that.
