I just had a look at a few snapshots on Wayback Machine, and it looks as though they've just been extending it periodically. I wouldn't panic just yet.
Yes last time they set it for august and extended it but i have a feeling this will be the last..
I'd say they are just giving themselves the flexibility and discretion to stop the deal. Or it's just a date they appoint to review whether to:
- continue to offer the price beat; or
- to change some of the T&Cs.
If I recall correctly, the first ever time they offered the price beat, it was for a limited time only. But then it seems they decided that it makes business sense to keep offering it.
I would bet that Jetstar's price beat guarantee is going to be around for at least the next few years.
I certainly hope not, their Price Beat policy has been a massive win both for customers and for them stealing market share.
