Bought Faulty Galaxy S4 from Overseas Based eBay Seller. Help Please

I purchased a galaxy s4 from ebay seller angel-market and have returned it to them for repair now they want me to pay $30 AUD this is what they said

"You need to send AUD 30.0 to our paypal account:[email protected] for new one
Pls inform us after you sent the money"

so i responded with why should i pay you for a new one it arrived faulty and i could never use it. they responded that the cost was for postage, after not previously saying it was for postage. What are my options? should i have to pay this return postage or should they cover it? also $30 seems a lot for postage from china, many thanks.

    dont really understand your structure here
    why didnt you paypal claim it as faulty and get a refund in full

    they cover you for 45 bucks return postage 8 times a year

    sounds like theyre taking you for a ride
    they should be covering return postage if youve paid to send it back

    Hmm can i still put in a paypal dispute? the item was purchased on the 3rd of august and i didnt return it until december even though it was DOA.

    Just file a dispute with Paypal, and see what happens next. Pursue a full refund and buy your phone elsewhere.

    You cant file a dispute with paypal….. it over 5months+ ….
