I had the Yamaha equivalent. Terrible handling. Weighed too much. Not enough power. Traded for a 1000cc sports bike and no regrets.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I am guessing first bike? I would avoid stuff with fairings unless you are doing a lot of high speed km and parking off street. First bike will be dropped and if you live inner city, expect people to reverse into it every now and again. Fairings are expensive to repair.

Both will be fast compared to a car, and slow compared to any other bike. It might be diffeent now, but I found it harder to mess up with high revving engines as you have to try to get into the high power/torque band. Not sure about these larger bore learner bikes.
You have to ride both to decide what suits you more.

    • First in Australia, have ridden sports and cruiser overseas

I liked the look of it, definitely will be trying in the showroom to see how it feels

Have you ridden the cruiser style feet forward bike before? Try both and see what suits you. Both are quite different and one will appeal more than the other. My mate and I both have Kawasaki's (me, Z1000, him Vulcan VN900). I rode both back to back and they were completely different. They felt like they were from different planets and I've been riding many different bikes over 20 years. Granted mine was a 4 cylinder versus his V twin, but you get the idea.

Try as many bikes as you can. If you want a LAMS bike you are spoilt for choice. Triumph Street Triple LAMS gets good reviews and has good resale, same with the Harley 500.

Try everything, there is one to suit every taste and style at the moment from nearly every manufacturer. Good luck and remember, ATGATT (all the gear, all the time).
