I'm a newbie with steam. How do trading cards work?
Play games and you get trading cards at random, you can only get half of a set of cards using this method. To get the other half you need to buy them (real) money off the market or trade them from other users. Once you earn a set you can trade them in for badges and exp. Exp is used to increase the size or your friends list and drop rate of cards.

Seems like a really cool game, glad I spotted this. Now to add to the collection of games on steam I barely play lol, but this looks good enough to break that habit.

I was going to say that initially, but people don't universally hate them as much as they hate EA lol. It's only galactic hate, rather than universal. So I went with the safe bet lol.
