How'd this compared to Chuwi.
I think 1200x800 screens are relegated to the clearance section of kmart ……….. most tablets in this price range and 8" are retina type resolution now ….. not sure what they were thinking "hey lets use a z8300 because it's new, windows 10 because its new and add a 1200x800 screen which are old have left over from 3 years ago"
Chuwi …. I had one, my model had plastic screen so sold it to someone who has time to chase screen protectors.
Got a teclast 8" …. has glass screen and retina resolution display …. great except for battery life.
so basically all these chinese tablets are only great at specs on paper but in reality there are so-so compare with big brands (yes apart from the price difference but sometimes i just amazed reading all the specs they have, sounds too good to be true)
No some Chinese tablets are good value but you need to read all the specs. Some have plastic screens so you need screen protectors. Some have small batteries so better with 10" models but you get more for your money than Samsung.
My teclast is great tablet but 1/2 battery life of iPad mini. But also 1/2 the price
Good info GS, cant understand why you are negged. I got three chuwi HI8 for the kids. Plastic is good for them. Just bought myself the HI10.
The screens are fairly average but acceptable for many tasks. I haven't seen any at this price with retina type screens - please link to some if you can. I bought the ONDA myself, cherry trail is alright - however it overheats a bit and slow down, battery life absolutely sucks balls.
All in all the experience of Windows on 8" device regardless of resolution sucks - it's hard enough on the large surface, it's really not designed for tablet use, even the tablet mode helps a little as most items are small and finicky. This is my opinion of course but I doubt I'm alone
Cube is a bit more solid than some of the others. Good price for what you get.
Some issues might be backlight bleeding with some.
Warranty will cost you half to send back and the only support you will get is chck our website.
I need a cheap tablet with 2gb ram. This one has plastic or glass screen?
I can vouch for the brand Cube as well, I have a cube U30GT from years ago, still running with no major issues.
Never used a Windows tablet, how much negative impact with 1200x800 on an 8" display?
Was thinking of getting this for a child.
I bought a Chuwi a number of months ago for a similar price..and nno, it's not an iPad. Screen quality and battery life are what you're paying for with Apple, Samsubg et al.
BUT, on our recent family holiday to Europe (3 x iPads and the Chuwi) guess what I used every day to copy all the digital photos, back them up onto an external HDD, clear the photos off the iPhobes etc)
And I didn't use Android to do it…you'd be surprised how convenient it is to have.a 'proper' computer in a tablet form factor, especially for photos. Clearing photos off the kids old 16GB iPhone 4s, adjusting EXIF data when we forgot to change the Timezone on the camera, adding GPS co-ordinates to photos, even just deleting the crap photos on a decent sized screen…
