      It's an internet nerd thing….
You know… internet nerds trying to be hip and all that jazz…

      • Is it a form of jazz this copy pasta? Is it like crimping?

  • have yet to see anyone use/bring a baby seat inside aircrafts but good to know this one is compatible :D

    • I believe most, if not all, FF baby seats are aircraft compatible (it is just a seat belt after all)

    • On commercial flights do you even get a seat for a child who is otherwise small enough for a rear facing baby seat? You get that bassinet thing in lieu of a seat.

      • on domestic flights you get a seatbeat addon so the bub sits on your lap & their seatbelt is attached to yours. Thats why kids under 2 are free, they sit on your lap.
I very much doubt you'd be allowed to use this on a commercial aircraft in Oz.

But the SICT (Side Impact Collision Technology) would be very handy on a plane.

        • Tiger charges the infant the same price as adult…

    • I had my first two kids (dare I say 12 years ago) in the US where it is highly encouraged - in Australian aircrafts, not encouraged so much….

  • The baby bunting website doesn't seem to mention that it's a sale price (unless i missed it).

The black model is listed at $549.

It's an old model replaced by millenia. They are basically the same except for the material, but the material on the new one is MUCH better and worth the extra price. It's a little bit more expensive though. We paid $475 for the millenia.

I'm not sure $126 is 'a little more expensive' when we're talking about a $350 car seat. That different material would need to be amazing.

      • I have the old model, which it's nice the material is annoying, it's quite thick, on a hot summers day I have to cover it and make sure I cool it before bub gets in it.

Haven't seen the new model but hopefully the material is like the maxi cosi euro ( which was recalled) that was more breathable. If it wasn't recalled, I would have gotten the euro cause of the material.

        • It's exactly like the maxi cosi material. I suspect they blatantly copied it.

The different material (Bamboo) is amazing, but probably not $126 amazing. It is cooler, but anywhere in Australia, when its hot its bloody hot, this different material doesn't help. European designers can't comprehend this. If its been in the sun you still have to cool it & the car.

This is a good price for what I'd call a 'business class' seat.

        • @snoo:

Yep, although the Millenium does breathe easier, if it's hot, it's still gonna be hot and only A/C will be the only thing the kid wants lol

      • If you saw the old model (and touched it) you would understand. If I lived elsewhere in the world I might not have a problem with it, but in Queensland it's just too hot. It's not really a matter of choosing between new and old model as much as either getting new model or none. I would not be comfortable using the old model as he would overheat.

There is also not many seats of this style currently on the Australian market, so if you are looking at this style (isofix and backwards facing up to 3 years, which you should if you can afford it), you would be expecting to pay $500 ish. It's a bit of a rip off I agree, but what is $126 over say 5 years of usage?

But yeah, great discount on this seat. It was almost double the price at many stores recently, and even last time I was at baby bunting the clearance price was $400+ so I guess they have reduced it further. The only major problem is the material, so if that's not an issue for you, go for it. But do compare them in person before buying.

Edit: ISOFIX! I was sure meridian had it, but can't see it mentioned so I guess not. The new model has it and I was blown away how sturdily it was attached compared to our old capsule. I would 100% recommend anyone to definitely get a seat with isofix.

    • We got the Meridian SICT when it first came out because it's forward facing until ~3 years. So glad they changed the name because the Meridian SICT replaced the Meridian AHR. It was so confusing and no stores could tell us which one they had in stock. Finally got it from RAA, who had quite a good price.

The seat is very nice. We have no complaints about the material although I can see how it could be a bit hot for northern climes (we're in SA, no complaints). And if you get in a crash, they "may" replace it. Basically only in: "A severe crash, we consider as being one where the main body structure of the vehicle is distorted. - See more at: http://www.britax.com.au/service-support/crash-exchange/#sth…

For proof, you need "Clear photographs of vehicle before and after road crash" so if you do get this seat, don't forget to have a photo before you crash.

      • (we're in SA, no complaints).

It's been 45 degrees in Adelaide since the end of November. All I've heard is complaints! Though today is nice.

        • Lol… We didn't go out on the scorching day. But when it was 38 just cranked the AC and was okay.

    • Where did u get the millenia for $475? I am in the market for a good car seat.

If you are in north side of Brisbane you can get it from ToysRUs Aspley for $329
