Bose is the Apple of sound stuff. The price is on the high side but you know it will sound good, you know it will work, you know it will not be complicated to install or use. The 5 star reviews reflect this well.
There will always be alternatives that sound better or are cheaper or more more powerful.
I have heard this and think it is a good system, I am looking at the larger one which is a bit clearer and projects sound better.
The apple of sound stuff then go on to say it will be good? You don't understand analogy.
You have proven my point :)
So what's the Android of sound then? Are there Bose haters just like there are Apple haters?
Are there Bose haters just like there are Apple haters?
Oh yes that is a very large part of the analogy!
So what you are saying, is that it looks and sounds good, but it will barely last a day before you have to charge it? And that you could buy 2 equal or better sounding sound bars for the price of a single bose? And they lock you into a eco system where you can only use bose approved sources or apps, and create their own proprietary connection that costs 4x as much as the regular connection? And that a new one will be out in a year that makes yours look terrible?
It was $663 at Myers in past sale.

I would personally wait for it to be under $600.
I have one. Sound is awesome. But it's stereo sound, not 5.1. Having said that much better than 5.1s that are just for the sake of it. Rather 5.1 illusion systems….
Good 5.1 systems are at least $1000+ with all the multiple components and clutter.
No other soundbar matches this today (even those claiming to be 4.1 or 5.1 or 10.7 or whatever)
But the all important question, is it worth $700…certainly not.
I bought it when it was $850ish…
Under / at $500 a BIG YES.
try Move store, was there on the weekend for $499 (at highpoint shopping centre)
Link please
they just had a sign in store, i suggest u give them a call, might just be a weekend special?
How do these compare to Philips fidelio soundbar?

I have this sound bar and I don't think it compares. I listened to the Bose in jb and feel like I wasted money. The fidelio surround sound is a waste as it has no stereo distance at the front, it barely sounds better than my TV, then the rear speakers are good but can't adjust the volume so they have to be positioned perfectly.
Thank you for your info! I will wait for the next Bose sale.
I would consider htib systems above sound bars also if that helps you. I am very picky when it comes to sound, and if I was going to buy a sound system again it would be a htib.
@OnlinePred: Any particular htib you like?
@congngo: I believe this is the one my mate bought recently: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/home-theatre….
If you spend big on a soundbar ($2k+) then you may get a really great sounding semi-stereo system. But personally I would prefer a good sounding 5.1 system with proper stereo and center distance speakers which you can get for sub $1k. Just know that these HTIB are really good for the money, but if you are after big sound then you need to spend more.
I would prob go for one of these if you don't mind having cables going to the rears, but will be much better sound and features: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/yamaha-speaker-system-package… http://www.harveynorman.com.au/yamaha-5-1-channel-home-theat…
@OnlinePred: thanks they seem like good prices
