Hi,folks. total noob here. I picked up the tablet not knowing that i wouldn't receive a USB cable. (i have the type of charger that is stuck together and not the USB type) i did try and use my Samsung plug no deal. I was wondering if there was another way of putting files on it? I have a laptop (if this helps) Video files and the special type of USB is out of stock from Google…
How to transfer files on Google Pixel C tablet?

Thanks a lot. do you think i should connect to my vpn to drag the files?
No. Traffic shouldn't need to go outside of your home network (assuming you're at home).
Right now,no. the files i want to transfer, yes.

OK so when you get home, connect the computer with the files you want to your home network (WiFi or Ethernet). Connect the tablet to WiFi on that same network. Open a web browser on the computer. Open the airdroid app in the tablet. Follow the instructions in the app. Thanks very much! will try that when i get home.

No worries, good luck!If it doesn't work, the options from ChocDooder below would be what I'd try next, too. Wifi using AirDroid will be faster than both of them though, so if you can get this to work it's probably optimal until you get a usb-c cable, which as dooder mention will be the absolute fastest.
Just got home and tried it. everything works great, thank you so much.
I have to becareful with touching the tablet as it stuffs it up and speed transfers are quite nice. easy to set up.
me being paranoid a tad paranoid,i decided to use my vpn.
once again,thank you.

Glad to hear it! Working with vpn is even better!
Considering you have a laptop, you may be able to pair it with your tablet using bluetooth, and then transfer files using that.
Failing that, you can upload your videos on Google Drive or Android and download it on your tablet. This may or may not be feasible depending on your video size and your upload speed.
Pixel C apparently doesn't have a micro SD or SD slot.
Both methods are slower than using a USB, so you'd want to get one at some point anyway.
Edit: Try Salem's option first
Thanks
If your tablet is on the same wifi as the computer that has the files you want, just install the Airdroid app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdr…
you then follow the instructions in the app. basically, you'll open a web browser on your computer to a specific address, which will show the tablet's contents. you then drag files into the web browser and it will put them on the tablet over wifi.
