They used to be the best place to grab a donut and coffee?
They later degenerated into crappy donuts, followed by store closures resulting in them being sold at servos and florists.
Yeah, to be honest, the only times when the donuts are actually good is when they are fresh.
My mates and I usually go at night to the Sydney airport one and 99% of the time the original glazed is fresh, and it is the best :)There were occasions i'd drive up to Penrith, NSW (45min drive) to grab the piping hot donuts that just made their way out of the oven (IN STORE)
Auburn soon opened and followed suit with the in-house baking. They would melt in the mouth without any exaggeration.
Some time later, Auburn closed their in-house LIVE baking around the clock. They resolved to baking once in the morning (a large batch) and cooling the stock until people bought them throughout the day.
Some time after that, Auburn and Penrith both permanently closed their in-store bakery and advised they get their donuts shipped from he central bakery somewhere.
Finally, most of the free-standing stores closed due to lack of business and now HO simply sell at servos.
It was simply greed that drove this. It costed too much for in-house baking and owners wanted to reap in the profits!
Still better than doughnut time

I do like them, although just the original glazed. They are not as 'doughy' thick and dense as traditional donuts. (which makes them less heavy).
When does this expire?
I wish the online orders could be sent by plane.
