OK,so even with crap exchange rates, shopping online in the US is still (usually) a cheaper option than doing so here…..but a lot of stores either won't ship here OR charge more than the item is worth to do so.Shipping forwarders have been the only option to buy (if no family or friends live in America)and you Bargainers have named many of them (good, bad and ugly). After reading your posts,i dealt with many of them….with varying degrees of success, but found this one….https://www.mymallbox.com to be by far the best.
Recently i was to ship a dress (nothing too heavy or large),and was quoted between 45USD and 60USD to ship….mymallbox charged me 25USD (and that included two other items i consolidated into the package) and it arrived within 2 weeks.I have a recurring subscription (monthly)for a sample box from the US that i am charged 3USD to receive and it comes on time every month, and i have never had any issues at all.
I realise that the parcel forwarding topic is a well known one here…discussed at length many times, but i just wanted to add my experience and perhaps save any interested in the idea a good few $ and add another option to the mix.Let us know if you have experienced this forwarder and what it was like…i'd be interested.
Australia Post started doing this a while ago but I havven't tried it / don't know how cheap it is compared to mymallbox
