Good price but it has a trendchip, so only good for short lines.
+1
If you're on a longer line (~2km+), go for the 8960N (msy has it for $44) which has a broadcom chipset. Runs great on my 3.7KM line.
Would the 8960N also work well if you are on a short line ?
Or would it be better to take the model from the post if you are within 1km of exchange ?
Do either of these models have DHCP reservation ?
I'd take the model in the post-trendchip chipsets will give you the best sync speed, so definitely good for <1km. Broadcom is better for long lines due to the higher stability.
I know that the W8960N has dhcp reservation, and I'd say the 8961N almost certainly has it http://www.tp-link.com.au/faq-489.html
@donnot: Thanks
Can I use this just as a cheap access point?
Plug a (live) Ethernet cable into one of the four ports (using it as input rather than output) and then use the wifi and the other three ports to connect devices.
Yes, it's all in the web interface (you can setup one of the ports to act as a WAN port).
…. deleted. Apologies
Where did you use your voucher?
