Good Quality Window Tinting - Sydney

Quoted $600 by the dealer to tint the 2 front windows (driver and passenger sides, rear already comes with privacy glasses).

We may just pay it for convenience, but out of interest, can someone recommend a reputable place using quality films?

I would expect $200 is fair, what do you reckon?

  • Have read on Whirlpool and forum here that tinting is NOT needed if it is a new car or even a few years old as it is now mandatory for manufacturer to provide ultra violet treated window glass. That is to prevent skin cancer risk. Google to find exact info.

    • You ever checked the difference between a tinted car and an un-tinted car? I have, and tinted all the way. It is genuinely cooler, and makes a difference.

To the OP, yes that sounds like dealer price (car salesman here), Tint-A-Car etc could likely do it for about $350. Don't go too cheap or they can do a dodgy job. At least have a company you can contact about warranty, or if it stuffs up in the short-term.

If you're out Blacktown way I would highly recommend this place:

Got mine done there, they use 3M film which I think is the best around.
The owner is my high school mate.

      3M is good.
Just got one of mine done - whole car with "black pearl" $300 north. Solartint Hornsby. Nice guy - Tom,

      • Love black pearl…lifetime warranty..did you get T18?

      • Sounds like a decent deal, and local to me too. I'll have to give Tom a call. Cheers!

    • any referral discounts? haha

      • haha not that I know of, kinda feel bad because he is a friend..
maybe if there was a big enough group

  • 600 for only the front 2? Rip off. The whole car being done should be under 300.

Just an update, went to OZtint at Five Dock, very professional and reasonably priced. Responded through email and confirmed with a phone call. They went through the different types of films, benefits and pricing, all done in an hour (pre-booked).

Found OZtint from 3M website: http://solutions.3m.com.au/wps/portal/3M/en_AU/Window_Film/S…

    • how much you ended up paying?

        $150 using 3M Color Stable.
