Need Help for Optus iPhone Plan as They Would Not Honour The Deal

I signed up for iPhone6s 64GB 24mth plan in November after seeing this deal:

It was a $135 plan, there was a giant now $100/ $35 off sign displayed right next to this price tag, it seems to me that it was impossible to sign up for the original $135 plan via the website, as I was under the impression that all orders placed via the website by clicking that now $100 button will be automatically directed to the $100 promotional plan.

I finally closed the deal by Optus online chatting system, and I also made it crystal clear to the operator that I am signing for the $100 promotional plan and he did confirmed. Unfortunately at that time I did not asked for the chat script to be emailed to me but I should have. Now when I received my first bill recently, it was $135. I chatted with optus operator again wanted to make sure there's $35 rebate etc after I paid my bill. He said no. They told me I was on $135 plan all along! The operator even pulled up a note recorded by previous operators, which said I signed up for the $135 plan. The operator also said he's unable to pull up previous chat script, all he has on hand now, is this note saying i'm signing up for the original $135 plan.

I feel being blatantly lied to. But right now I have no evidence against them. I don't have the chat script, they have already changed the website now and I did not screen shot the page back then, because it was signed up via online chat, I don't even have a pdf contract.

Edit: Also it took them 10 days to deliver my phone. according to this page https://community.optus.com.au/t5/Announcements/Handset-Deliā€¦ i'm entitled to 1 mth's compensation but I did not receive this one as well. I'm going crazy now.

Has anyone here signed up to the same deal? I would really appreciate it if someone could lend me a copy of the plan's pds or 'critical information summary'. Any advice from this point will be deeply appreciated….thanks

    Looks like its now expired and you get 18gb for $130 (on sale at $100)

    • Yes that's why I said 'they have already changed the website now', I'm aware that the $135 for 20GB plan I signed up for no longer exist on their website.

          I'm trying to make this point, that it was impossible to sign up for $135 plan back in November, or today. The $100 promotion is still going on now. Anyone who clicked on that plan will be directed to the $100 promotion link. I could not possibly sign up for the 135 plan even if I wanted to

  • I'm on this exact same plan which I signed up to last month. Just got my bill. If you look under Other Charges and Credits (p. 3 on my bill) you should see a credit for Less $35 Access Discount. And a credit for Less Handset Credit. My bill was for ~$145
    What usually happens is they charge you extra on the first bill. And then after your final bill in the contract you get the extra back as a credit.

    • I didn't pay attention to this matter before. But I checked the bill and myOptus online account today, my plan is the $135 plan. There is no mentioning of $35 credit anywhere and the chat operator confirmed it.

      There's a place in my account page where you can download your critical information summary, I just downloaded mine and it's $135 plan. But it was supposed to be $135($100 promo) plan. I think if you log onto your account and download the same thing you will see the latter one.

  • Get in touch with the telecommunications industry ombudsman. They normally sort it out pretty quick.

  • I would act quick on this as that are scamming you 100% and they know it!!
