In 2004, The inventor of the LED light won the Lemelson-MIT for inventing the LED light. They were only about forty years too late I think. Anyhoo, now we have LEDs in everything from alarm clocks to dashboards to billboards and now to monitors for energy efficiency, deeper blacks and saturated colours. So essentially LEDs are awesome. Of course, If I'd invented something that everyone uses for good [and not evil!] and was only recognised for it half a century later.. I would be really really annoyed.
