Telstra Cruise (The $9 Cheap Phone) - Unlocking

Recently i got a Telstra Cruise from bigw via this post : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/221852

I tried following ebay sellers:

All said, they couldnt find the IMEI in the server/database (of where ever they gets this)

dcunlocker software can unlock but for 7 credits (11aud)

However the dcunlocker dongle can unlock this phone for free (zero credit). But buying the dongle may cost 100$ about (not sure).

Not a super important for me, but would like to check :

Anyone has dcunlocker dongle (in sydney) and willing to unlock ? May be for a fee of 5$

    I got one when my last phone died and wanted to unlock it to keep as a backup phone in case I lose my new phone. My normal unlocking guy wanted $15 to unlock, and the other places I could find at the time all wanted around $10-15 so I didn't bother as thats more than what the phone cost.

        Interesting. Most say DCUnlocker the only way for this phone. Please tell us which Ebay person worked for you.

          @rasun81: That guy wasn't able to supply me a code. Said it wasn't in his IMEI database, and refunded me. Still looking…

          @AliensStoleMyMoney: nah I didn't. Tried 3 different online vendors. They all gave me my ~$3 back.
          Ended up activating the SIM as a Telstra long life sim, so I get 6 months before expiry. I'll try to unlock again in 5 months time.
          I hope that will be long enough for the 'unlockers' to update their databases.

          damn shame i got one for 10 bucks so imma just chuck a telstra long life sime into it too, just need it for work and gumtree contacts as i cant take my phone into work and well gumtree is gumtree
