I have sold 5 items on eBay last week, 5 payments came through in my PayPal account but one shows that it is pending? I have never encountered this before does anyone know why and how to fix it? All items have already been shipped out this week. Been a seller for more than 5 years with least 100 feedback, from buying and selling, cheerS.
I run 2 accounts
one fell below standard as i had to cancel a couple of transactions
which then ebay and paypal wont release the funds for 21 days until you increase your selling standards

My 2nd account is still in the 3 month trial period and all payments i have to wait 21 days.
Sort of protects the buyer , but really annoying when you have a substantial amount of funds you cant use
not sure but happened to me, i bought before from new seller, i transfered she claimed still pending and didnt want to send, i called paypal, paypal said its normal for new sellers to send before paypal release the money, i told this to seller she didnt believe.
finally she cancelled the transaction. amazing.
Would you send something without a cleared payment?
its paypal rules. recently introduced. to protect buyer.
remember this is 2 sides. buyer can cheat, seller can cheat.
therefore we have paypal in the middle.
this should be read as:
because the seller is new, and to protect buyer who already paid just incase the seller run away with their money, so paypal safeguard the cash, until buyer receive the goods then seller can enjoy the payment.
i can ask you, would you pay something upfront without knowing the seller is honest or someone else is backing up the transaction?

Oh sure. I bet it's got nothing to do with PayPal making a short term investment with your "uncleared" funds. Just like the account freezes where PayPal does the same - that's just to protect somebody you understand, nothing to do with temporarily controlling free money and then investing it for profit.
This is totally normal. I sold around 30 items in the lead up to Christmas and didn't receive the funds for approx 2 weeks - despite casually selling on Ebay for around 5 years. I also have an above average seller rating. It seems the pending time is reduced slightly once you upload the tracking number.
Echeque takes a few days to clear.
