This is the main ingredient in the Johnnie Walker blends and is a great drop; last time I had a bottle of it was a few years ago but I have fond memories. It's a bit smokey but is on par with something like Lagavulin when it comes to an approachable Islay.

Usually about $100 at Dan's and 1C, this is a pretty good price. Might be worth trying to price match if you don't want to pay/wait for shipping.

Oh and they also have a case of Singha beer for $40.

      THis is an upgrade on lagavulin. It's smoother and more complex in a delicate way for my tastes.

    I prefer Lagavulin, much more aromatic and more complex, but Caol Ila is still really good and holds its own. The other Islay I like which is harder to find is Bruichladdich.

    Don't forget Laphroaig. The PX cask you can only get from duty free is fantastic.

      px is great value in most airports. usually 15% off if you buy 2 (roughly 80-90 a bottle) for 1L. Best bang for buck imo.
