More flavours available (well 4 or more vs 1 or 2 at Jacks etc) but still just as sickly sweet
Last time I was in a Jacks they seemed to have quite a range of flavours, some were a bit odd. Aside from Coke, there was blue Fanta, Creaming Soda, Apple (sour perhaps?) and Sour Watermelon. I think along the way they've had a few others too, they seem to change them every so often.
I tried the watermelon with a bit of apple on top just to see what it was like. Face twisting stuff, nice but not really enjoyable if that makes sense. A little was alright but after finishing it I wish I hadn't.
@ HJ's, they may only have 2 or 3 on display but they actually have all the flavours ready to go behind the counter. Just ask.
Melon is amazingAll of my local HJs have Coke, Sour Watermelon, Sherbert, Melon Frosty, Mango and Raspberry. Seems to be a better range than 7/11
Yeh that's if they are working. Many occasions 3 of the 4 flavors on offer are dripping water and left with boring raspberry
Ah yes forgot about that one, I have had a Raspberry and agree it was pretty ordinary, I wanted a Creaming Soda but it was out of syrup or busted or whatever the excuse of the day was. I've tried maybe half a dozen times to get a Caramel shake as well and succeeded once. ONCE.
What's the best flavour?
I've tried watermelon and orange.
Watermelon >> orange. F orange. Orange tasted like sh!t and was mostly air.
I reckon sherbet is quite nice, but can't quite describe it,, just very pleasantly peculiar & fragrant.
they have some nice sweet tastes, which aren't available in HJ, McD and the like…
Slurpee have co2 added, the others don't.
And C12H22O11
carbon dioxide??
Why??
Be careful, all slurpee have dihydrogen monoxide and everyone that has come into contact with it has or will die.
careful, the internet is flooded with misinformation about this chemical
Yes, they are significantly better, as you can pour your own and choose a flavour that is actually Frozen. $1 at HJ and McD are very much a lucky dip, particularly on a hot day.
I also prefer the taste of slurpees, I find that even when HJ ones are frozen they taste watery.
7-Eleven has zilched sugar-free flavours, McJacks doesn't.
Yes they are better and different at 7-11.
For one they have a greater variety of flavours.
Secondly they have various sizes right up to mega which is huge.
Thirdly they have promos like $1 for a giant snake (edible) with purchase.
Most importantly though, they are make your own - so you can combine the flavours however you like, and you can overfill your cup. My kids used to get a real kick out of making them - almost as much as the kick they got from the sugar high when they consumed them….
"Just plug it into my veins!"
Thanks.Still over priced. Small frozen Coke at Coles express is 80c. 2 small slurpees where the cup is much more narrow would still be $2
The machine is always so runny at my local Coles Express, the term "Partially Frozen Coke" would be more appropriate.
Let It Go
Slurpee good
Is Don?
Just great, now the 7 Eleven at Coolooroo is going to be packed for the next month…..ahhh well still a good deal.
I guess it is easy for 7-11 to run promotions like this when they are engaging in modern day slavery.
Probably easy to do since it's flavoured ice.
Is this like the George Lucas comment about Disney?
Are 7-11 slurpees andy better or different to the $1 frozen offerings from the likes of Jacks etc?
