Need some tax advice as my accountant does not seem to be the smartest person. I have a sales job on the road visiting clients. Work pays for fuel by fuel card but I use my own car. My old car is not running good and might need changing soon. Any advice on what all I can claim / how much on repayments for car would be great. Also, what are the other things you can claim as part of such job where you travel. I just bought 2 professional suits for the role but not sure if I can claim it.

Yep, needs to be have their logo or (I believe) be safety gear (if you're a tradie, etc)
This is a principle which has been well established - but is based on an increasingly questionable premise.
When this decision was originally made it was common-place for men to wear suits for both work and personal attire.
Now it is becoming unusual for men to wear suits, either at work or privately.
Honestly, even in most of the professions nowadays people don't wear suits. In fact, I might even set up a poll for this question.
IMHO the Edwards case is a good part of the a reconsideration of this principle which will start to recognise that suits are occupation specific and not likely to be used for private use. Just need the right case to get there.
Might make a good dissertation for someone.
Agree with tomsco.
Another suggestion - change the accountant if he is not the smartest.Def changing the accountant next year but trying to understand what all I can do to be ready to save. No point after the time is gone. Not a tradie but in Online Marketing / Sales.
Why not consult ATO website for further info

If you have a logbook you can claim the work % of the car expenses, as fuel is paid for by you company, you cannot claim a deduction for it, but the rest such as rego, insurance, repairs/maintenance, depreciation (value of the car over 8 years) can be claimed.
Only logo-ed clothes, protective clothing or occupation specified uniform can be claimed. Thanks a lot for the guidance guys. Appreciate it.
Unsure about the car stuff but Suits aren't claimable. Google is your friend.
"You cannot claim the cost of purchasing or cleaning plain uniforms or clothes, such as black trousers, white shirts, suits or stockings, even if your employer requires you to wear them."
