New to Induction Stoves - Buy Cookware or Electric Saucepans?

Hi,

I've recently moved and the new place has an induction stove, which don't respond to any of my saucepans/pots. So my options are to buy the correct ones, knowing that I've signed the lease for 18mths, and they might be iffy with a normal stove, or to buy an electric saucepan. Which would you recommend?

Current Status: Doesn't cook, or borrow the neighbours' pots. Gets food delivered.

  • buy the correct ones
induction saves a bucket load of electricity vs tradtional cooktops

"and they might be iffy with a normal stove"

nope - any reasonable pot these days should be good for electric, gas and induction.

check the pan with a magnet - if it sticks to the base, it should work with an induction hob. If it does stick but doesn't heat, the hob is faulty.

  • if you are going to fork out for electric saucepan
might as well buy a set (couple of pans) that works on induction as well

  • visit myer now with their stocktake sale, they always have pans on sale then.
