6 Free Steam Games @ GrabTheGames

180

All of these have been free previously, but here there are all together, in case you've missed one of them - I've also included the steam links for convenience:

  1. Realms Of The Haunting (72% http://store.steampowered.com/app/292390/)
  2. Paradise Island (53% http://store.steampowered.com/app/400250/)
  3. Why So Evil (52% positive http://store.steampowered.com/app/331710/)
  4. Why So Evil 2 (53% http://store.steampowered.com/app/354850/)
  5. Break Into Zatwor (54% http://store.steampowered.com/app/395980/)
  6. Overcast - Walden and the Werewolf (60% http://store.steampowered.com/app/293180/)

Note that these are provided by various different sites - signup will be required for a few of them (if you haven't previously) and some tasks need to be performed including liking groups/pages, etc. Also a steam account is required to play them. I'm sure someone will still complain about them being free, because of these 'restrictions', even if they're clearly specified.

    Crappy games.

I'd like a quick review before I bother to add unknown games to my steam library (even if free). You gave me a review. It was also quick.

What's the point of collecting crappy games that you'll never waste your time on?

    Steam is controlling your minds!

Some people do it to collect the trading cards, because:

      • they like them/like collecting them, or
      • they sell them to buy other games or cards (OzBargainers!), or
      • they complete card sets to increase their Steam XP so their booster pack drop rate increases, so the can get more cards.

And, no, you don't actually have to install or play them to get the cards: Steam Idle Master, FAQ

Good summary, and point taken as to why many people like it.

        Personally
        - as value/benefit I still see it as a waste of time.
        - I can't help but think that platform-based XP/gamerscores is so lame: is it really supposed to create an impression that you're better than someone else? Or a sense of general awesomeness? Just doesn't seem necessary.
        - I can't stand achievements either because 99% of them are junk. Creates OCD issues (I'm OCD when it comes to clocking games, although I learnt to ignore achievements), and still lame. Exceptions are taking the gnome through all of half life 2 and similar - those really are achievements.

I'd love to go back to the days where a content delivery platform doesn't have all this guff.

  • Remember playing realms of the haunting back in 1997/98. Was a great game then, though not sure how well it would play these days.

Too much hassle. Join youtube channel, steam, etc? really? I guess nothing is really free but I think they are asking too much.

Weird, nothing is free for me, at least cost me USD 0.99.

    • You're supposed to get to the deals by clicking the deal link: either the thumbnail picture or the "Go to Deal" just under it.

The individual Steam store links are so you can read the game descriptions.

      I didn't neg you.

      • thanks MiniMoo it works.
