Not sure if cable versions are really applicable. lol.
Only one which I see which is different would be HDMI to HDMI+Ethernet (i forgot which version that added it).
Otherwise isn't it really just a straight through cable with all the pins connected up….
You bought five 75 inch TVs???
Wrong, he just bought one tv but he wants to wall hang it using 5 HDMI cables, that's why he wants them "very thick and good quality" ;)
P.S. I saw the cables too this morning while buying the Dymo LetraTag but I have promised my wife no more cables for this year.
…I'm going back Saturday to buy 3!
Thanks
Kim dotcom is that you?
Huh?
"Cable are very thick and good quality"
Yeah coz they're generic as (profanity) cables you buy on ebay for $1 free shipping /lol
Couldn't find them anywhere for $1. Hence bought from OW
ebay, not buying anything from those charlatans.
great deal but does any one literally need a 5m hdmi cable? just curious…
I use a 10m to hook up my PC that's far away from my TV.
Xbox, fetch tv, htpc, LG ent system,
That's 4 ports already for me
5 sounds reasonable just in case one fails
Exactly.
Xbox one
Partner's Wii U
Apple TV
Home Theater Amp system.
1 Spare if I need to connect laptop
I also have a 1 to 5 HDMI switcher as well. But I still need 5 cables.
Why not just run one to your amp, then connect everything to the back of that? I only ever have one HDMI cable connected straight to my TV.
@AlexD: Thanks
My Amp only have 1 Input and 1 Output
Not sure if it's going to effect the wuality of the video, don't think it's 4K compatible
@curryblender: Ah, fair enough. Next upgrade, then.
@AlexD: yeah most likely when it rocks up on Ozbargain.
I got in roof speakers so something to compliment them will be great
@curryblender: The pricing has dropped a lot on the Onkyo TX-NR545. You can pick one up at around $750, though they have been as low as $650. RRP $1299, and a very capable amplifier.
they asked about needing a 5metres cable, not 5 cables.
My Bad
It's through the wall
And a bit of room to fiddle around never hurts
2M is too small and 3M is expensive then 5M
I use a 15m connected to a powered HDMI splitter to share Foxtel signal from my bedroom to the living room tv
How do you change the channel?
With the "UFO" RF remote extender I got from Dick Smith http://www.matchmaster.com.au/domestic/accessories/05mm-re03
and a second Foxtel remote.
Need to connect all toys at once
I have 10M ones connected for my theatre room for projector and Amplifier
at this price it sure beats the 80cm one that comes with a monitor.
thanks for post
didnt your million dollar TV come with a cable?
This
Nope
I wish
Thanks, OP for the heads-up on these cables! In addition to a 5m cable, I picked up some of the coloured 1.5m cables for an upcoming recabling job.
Tip: They also have 6-packs of the Insystem (brand) "Small Cable Clips", product code INCWRSAS, for $0.20 a pack! They are IDENTICAL to product code CRCMCO but 95% cheaper! (ref http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/wrapt-up-co…)

I do reckon that HDMI cables are not entitled to the version, only the ports(connector, interface, whatever) are able to claim the version(1.2,1.4.2.0,2.0a).
All of AD of cables mentioned the version is misleading the customers on the market.
