RIP Motormouth >:(

Motormouth has completely changed their layout and provision of details of the cheapest servo in your area. No longer do you get details on WHICH servo is the cheapest, but general average price in your area. Credits are now needed to see this premium labelled info. Basically you get credits for submitting/working for MM, with a one off credit on sign up.

Very disappointed to read this. Use motormouth all the time to find the cheapest local servo.
Now they've got some convoluted credit system and hide the prices unless you spend credits.

NRMA's Petrol Watch is quite detailed but I think it might be for NSW only. It includes:

    • Yeah it appears to be for NSW only

  • found mm poor as went to cheap servos who raised their prices after waiting for the mm driver to pass by. their drivers made mistakes with ulp premium etc which they would not rectify; the cheap price is a con as it seems to imply sydney wide prices but is a clever marketing trck so that the overall stats suggest prices don't move far from them. reality is the oil biz plays the consumer and uses such sites to imply that we can get such prices reliably.

  • Check out: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/petrol-diesel-lpg/petrol-p…

(The prices are there for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide. Gives a pretty accurate advice when to fill up the car. Usually far more important than comparing the stations on a certain day (you only save a few cents compared to up to 25 cents).

But I miss motormouth … esp. on the days where the prices changed there were still a few stations with the cheaper price. And motormouth WAS a great way to find out.

    • Lazy, been awhile, but I can remember using Motormouth with much enthusiasm, even before the site's name change. On mobile, too, but not via the SMS option. Painfully slow but detailed updates via GPRS, before 3G. Speccy.

Some current & wedded users will likely shell-out for app credit, less the crowdsourced-info credit scheme. That'll be the hope of Motormouth: Establish app and gain a bit of revenue before multiple free/ad-supported apps arrive mid-year.

      Info will encompass entire country:

Hang-tight for many and easy 'realtime-price' rays of light.

Maybe sleep on ice-cubes (or place in reverse-facing pouch if girl wombat) in order to early-hibernate in mini_wombat burrow 'til past mid 2016?

Oh, and wombats can drive? Holy Shit!
