Telsta Friends & Family Plan about to Expire. Can I Call and Ask for New Handset

Hi All

I took Telstra Friends and Family Plan in Feb 2013 and it is about to expire next year in Feb. I just to know if anyone able to get a new handset or not in similar situation. I am not a Telstra staff member.

    I asked them this and they said when you recontract (with a new phone) it needs to be with a current plan. You can't recontract and stay on the existing plan.
    You can stay on the same plan without a new phone until they kick you off (which may be never) though.

      I just called them and they said that I can stay on my $39 plan but needs to authorised online. I will call them again tomorrow and will ask them how to do it.

          Yes, do let us know now you go. Last time I tried this they insisted I had to move to a new plan but my old plan was such awesome value that it just wasn't worth it.

        Hi, it's been several weeks and you haven't let us know how you went, could u please enlighten us? And please confirm if you are 'sponsored' by having your plan under an existing Telstra member or valid 'friend of Telstra', or if you qualify for neither at this point (so should be kicked off as per their terms and conditions). Sorry for all the questions, but I know someone who is in the latter category and wants to know their options if they actively contact Telstra. Thanks in advance
