Wedding Gift- Find Me a Bargain!

Hi Ozbargainers,
I need to buy a wedding present for a young couple. Looking to impress for under $50 :). Could go a bit higher…
With the sales on now and bargains galore, I don't know where to start :/
Find me an unbeatable deal for a wedding present, please :)))

My go to wedding present is always a silver photo frame.
If they get more than one, it doesn't matter, and it will always be used (in the first few years anyway) and on display in either the lounge or the bedroom.
    Go for a modern look.

You really think that this website is for you to have other people track you down a bargain? Try Google, buddy.

    • Thanks. This forum is called 'Find Me A Bargain'.

  • The best gift is one they want. Ask them then seek out the lowest price.

There is not much that will impress for $50 and personally I think that is pretty stingy. I would give at least $100 for a wedding gift. Why not ask them for a list of things they are hoping for then come back to oz bargain to find the best price. Alternatively give them $100 cash which always goes appreciated.

I do like the photo frame idea above as yes - always useful - but a frame on its own likely looks a little cheap for a wedding gift.

  • Thanks for the suggestions. The silver photo frame is a great idea! Hunting presently. Other idea was luxury brand champagne flutes plus bottle of champers. The gift can be low key as they have been married a few months and I wasn't invited to the wedding.

    • Why are you buying them a wedding gift then?
I see a wedding gift as a way of saying "Thank you for inviting me to your wedding. Here is something to say thank you and congratulations."
If you weren't invited, why would they be "expecting" a wedding gift from you?

      • I'm family, just not close family. We're catching up over the holiday break, family gathering, so I think a gift is in order :).

    • You should have explained this background info in the original post as it changes everything. Usually a wedding gift is interpreted to mean you will be attending the actual wedding. In this case, I think a $50 gift is by far sufficient and you are not stingy at all! I wouldn't even get something if I was not invited to the wedding ahhaha….

I like the photo frame idea, or just a bottle of Moët - less than $50 from Dan murphys.
