Good Quality 40" FHD for < $500

I can't seem to find a decent quality TV around this size for a decent price. Even with all these boxing day sales on. Anyone know of any?

The Dick Smith ones have terrible reviews, and have been $299 in the past.

You won't find a quality 40" at that price unless it's on clearance or an ex display such as the Dick Smith sale a couple weeks ago. Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony are primarily the best brands for proper TVs with a good picture.

I was in the market for one too, was going to get the $499 Panasonic at Harvey Norman http://www.harveynorman.com.au/tv-blu-ray-home-theatre/tvs/t… but spent the extra $100 and got them to price match Dick Smith for the Samsung http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tv-video/samsung-40-101cm-full-h….
Great TV, picked it up first thing this morning, been watching the cricket on 9HD and Netflix all day, can't fault it. The sound is also excellent.
