[Android] Sygic Holiday Sale: World Maps €29.99 ($45.19); HUD €4.99 ($7.53)

40

Sygic are having a holiday sake with 50-70% off their Premium maps.

Unfortunately the World map pack and extras aren't available as an IAP. For Telstra prepaid customers the Australian map pack is $31.31 and is available as an IAP.

I haven't used it but will be giving it a go for the lane guidance feature.

  • Sorry, what's "IAP"? And do you happen to know if you have to pay for other things like POIs, speedcams, etc.? I actually did email them about this, the reply I received was so vague, it answered nothing.

Just installed this a few days ago, only tried it for 30 minutes or so, so far. It puts a lot of needless stuff on the screen. Which can be a pain if running on a smallish phone screen in the car. Not sure if that can be changed, because I didn't find it very intuitive at all. But maybe that was because I was driving at the time.

Say, have you found anything else that had lane guidance? I think TomTom Go does, but I think they want you to pay every year.

      IAP = In app purchases

      • Oh, ok… I thought I saw the worldmap marked down too. Maybe that sale finished.

    • Metroview also does I believe

      • Hm… Pictures in the play store seem to indicate it does. Wish they had a 7 day trial or similiar.

  • Been this price for ages..

How does this compare with Waze (apart from being offline)
Doesn't this app still need online access to access traffic updates?

    • Well I assume the traffic updates don't come by magic ;)

    • Waze map is free and is heap better.

    Heremap ftw.

    • Oh, I didn't think it did lane guidance!

    • Here map

  • I've used sygic for the last 12 months, awesome nav app much better then any of the many others I have used in the past. No weird routes etc when you want guidance, well worth the $$. The speedcamera warnings have saved me a few times!
