Awesome thanks for taking the time to make the list :)

      • +8

I kept hitting ctrl c on my laptop while starring at my tv with the psn store up but it wouldn't work. Doin it wrong maybe. :/

        • lol my bad.. good work dude

  • Is this AUstralia PSN sales? Been using US PSN for ages

    • Yes aus psn.

Unfortunately hardly worth using a US psn anymore with the exchange rate.

      • Plus the monthly PS+ "free" titles are all the same as here now. :\

      • +1

For me, I can't change it. I bought 3 years of US PS+. No way I'm going to change it to AU now. I'll lose access to those games. I'm locked in.

Also, with Vita you need a second memory card if you want both stores.

        • +1

even with bad exchange rate the US PS+ prices are cheaper.. I'm considering buying another 2 years US PS+ access from Amazon for $39.99 USD each

  • i'm loving Shovel Knight so far…

  • +5

I love how these prices are cheaper than the 12 days of Christmas sales that just ended!

    • this was always going to happen, too bad every time i tried to buy on the 12 days i could never get on. hahaah. bonus!

  • Great deals lol

  • +5

PSN store is down for me atm (or just incredibly slow), please don't let it be that xmas hacker announcement….

$36 for that golf game sounds pretty good even though its sub-par

    • For me, works in Chrome, slow in FF.

      • I was loading it from the PS4 itself

        • Don't. It's the slowest and most unreliable way to access the shop.

Do it on your PC, then go to your download list and download your purchased items.

  • MGS4 Ground Zeroes only $7? Just old or bad game too?

    • +1

It's the MGSV Prequel, I beat it in about 2 hours. Fun though.

    • Gz is more of a tech demo for the main game: mgsv (which also comes with mgo3).

There's only one map in gz and the 4 or 5 missions have slight variations of it. It has also been a ps plus game.

I suggest you get mgsv (although maybe not from psn) and not get played like a damn fiddle.

    • GZ is the reason I decided to skip MGS5.

They tried to sell a 2 hour 'prolog' — most likely excised from the main game — for over half the price of the main game (backlash had the price cut to just half) which has a world 200x the size of GZ according to the developers. In other words, presale or preemptive DLC, and one of the most expensive DLC ever made, at that.

  • +2

No love for the The Old Hunters DLC :<
Edit: btw merry christmas and all that jazz.

    • +3

this is the nicest rant i've seen on ozbargain

  • +1

Thank you. I get Tropico 5, Omega Quintet and Akiba Trip :D

  • bloody hell… Just bought the Escapists on Xbone for $13. Would have preferred it on PS4.

    Merry Xmas everyone!

  • Why is it called a January sale given that it starts now? Is that because it will last till the end of Jan?

    • +1

      yup…

  • +1

I wonder how long we have until GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas for PS4 go on sale for a decent price, instead of charging 23 bucks for games over a decade old.

    • +1

Me too, I'm waiting for Vice City and San Andreas to be bundled together for under $25.

    • +1

I'm kinda hoping they'll bring Liberty City Stories to the PS2 range as well as that's the only one I didn't play. Definitely wouldn't pay $23 though, this is nothing like the FFX PS4 remaster

      • Download PPSSPP, a free PSP emulator for your computer or phone (it runs great on my Nexus 5, and I can only assume it will go even better on a decent computer) which can also upscale the shit out of images and stuff, like, it makes some games look like early 360 games, they look stunning.

Anyway, download that, and get a hold of an LCS ISO, and you're set. Either version of PPSSPP supports pretty well any controller you can throw at it.

Actually, as I was about to finish this up, I just remembered LCS has come to iOS and should be on Android soon, for 7 bucks and actually with a bunch of upgrades, not just a lazy port of a PS2 game with a ridiculous price, like the PS4 trilogy.

  • +3

Really good price on Tropico 5 — cheapest I've seen it anywhere. Good game :)

  • Cheapest Ive seen The Evil Within, prices usually range from $30-$35.

    • I got my copy from the Dicksmith clearance for $20, still some copies around the place if you can find it.

      • Same. Managed to pick up Evil Within and Alien:Isolation from Dick Smiths for $20 each. If I hadn't I'd be grabbing Evil Within from this sale though, I really enjoyed the game.

  • Since the OP didn't mention it, this is AU store.

  • +2

Driveclub + Season pass for $19.45 is a BARGAIN. Get on it people!

  • +1

For those who're PS4 Virgin like me, I recommend Shadow of Mordor GOTY edition . It has great story, a combination of assassin creed and Diablo gameplay and great voice over … Anyone can recommend any other games?? Avoiding new ones because of huge price tag. What cha think of watchdog ? Have a good Christmas lads

    • +1

Watch Dogs is pretty ordinary. If you're looking at that sort of game go for Sleeping Dogs, GTA5 or Saints Row Iv. They are all significantly better.

Saints is more over the top and doesn't take itself seriously. A big nod to The Matrix story wise.
Sleeping Dogs is more combat based being set in Hong Kong.
GTA is GTA :P. Can't go wrong and it's the best one yet imo. The online is a blast with friends too.

      • i don't know why watch dogs got slammed so hard by people. probably what happens when there's so much pre-hype. i thought it wasn't too bad, enjoyed the overall tone of the plot even if the writing wasn't amazing, the gameplay was fun and at least had some original mechanics to it. gunplay is decent enough and it's pretty fun being able to hack a train to jump on and make a getawa. multiplayer felt similarly inventive and i really enjoyed the different modes even if none of them have a lot of longevity. 'online decryption' is like a twist on capture the flag that i've recently jumped back into. if you don't mind a disc then it can be found for under $20 from EB and i think at that price it's totally worth it.

sleeping dogs was really boring for me, played like a cookie cutter of all the other open world games i've played with none of their best parts and no original mechanics of its own. i'm glad i bought it for pc instead of ps4 so i didn't waste too much money on it. bought the definitive edition for like $5 or $10.

        just my $0.02

    • Shadow of Mordor is fun! I just bought the regular edition at EB for $28 so guess I'm gonna return it so I can buy the GOTY edition for the same price…

From this list I'd recommend maybe GTA V because it'll last you a long time so the high price is worth it, any of the Telltale games because they're amazing storytelling, Deadpool if you don't mind very average gameplay mixed with amazing script, or Trials Fusion.
I agree with everything Windslot suggests so I didn't include them myself (except GTA because GTA)

Rocket League.. The most fun I've had on my PS4 since launch.
    $17.95

    • Tempted since I missed it on PS+ but I'm hoping they will do a retail release with all of the DLC like what Helldivers did. Not sure if it's on the cards, though.

    • +1

i feel sorry for all those who missed out on the free rockey league PSN game, by far the best buy of all PSN over the past year…

      • Someone I know refused to try it (even when free) because he is a "pro FIFA player"

  • +1

I miss the black friday/thanksgiving sale, was way better could easily buy more stuff from that sale

  • +1

Man, c'mon Sony, give us a decent price on Until Dawn digital edition. I don't want a disc, and I don't want any of the other games in the BOGOF deal.

  • Wow, why is need for speed so cheap? Didn't that game just recently released?

    • No idea. But I am not getting it due to the always need internet function and the cringeworthy cutscenes!

    • +1

      Because it bombed.

    • i thought it looked sort of fun so I'm glad I held off - at this rate I'm hoping it'll soon join the ranks of other games that go for a pittance pre-owned now (driveclub, watchdogs)

    • Short single player game, game is always online even in single player

  • some good deals. was almost tempted to jump back onto Destiny with that $40 Legendary edition but with what I hear about microtransactions and stuff part of the game now I think I'll stay off that particular ship. I'm still annoyed that they essentially broke the game for anyone who wouldn't cough up more money for another expansion.

Tomb Raider for $16 looks good, worth it? that Borderlands collection for $30 is tempting too but I think I'll hold off a bit longer on that, I've got enough games to work through still and I think it'll dip below that on disc in the next couple months.

    • Tomb Raider is definitely worth it. Great game.

  • Metal Gear V would of been an instant purchase at 39.95. Wish they would of done a sale on Mortal Kombat X - I know they had it for BF sales but the timing was wrong.

    • i feel like i remember it being $45 on AU PSN a few weeks ago but i could be wrong, maybe it was $55

      • All good, I ended up price matching the Harvey Norman game clearance sale at EB which brought it to $36! Can't complain with that :)

  • I like how I was looking at a Vita game that is $8.50 and under "Description" it says the last time this was on sale was 27/11/15-30/11/15 and it was $6.50 …thanks?

  • Any discount Playstation credit around?

  • Hi guys, I am a new owner of a PS4, trying to buy games off the playstation store but it keeps telling me it cannot process the transaction due to the details relating to my Visa CC and also getting similar/same error with Paypal. Do any of you have experience tackling this error? I've triple checked the details I am entering in.

  • Delete sorry

  • Is Grand Theft Auto V for $59.97 a good price? Been waiting for it to go down for ages.

Plus what is the Grand Theft Auto V and Shark Cash Card $66.98? What is a shark cash? Do I need it? Is it worth an extra 10 dollars?

    • Shark card is like in game currency for multiplayer. You use it to buy shit like guns, cars and houses. If you seriously can't be bothered grinding for cash and/or don't have the time it might be worth it.

    • Yeah it's a pretty good price, I bought GTA V at jb hi-fi last week for $59 which is the best price I've seen it at thus far.

  • Well….It's a sale….Most I don't think are totally worth it…But I bought the ones where I get a PLUS discount. I'm just waiting on GTA V to be cheaper but I don't feel we'll get cheaper than the EB deal a few weeks ago which I didn't get.

  • Any idea when this sale officially ends? The UK Jan sale only runs until Jan 8th apparently.
Decided to pick up Destiny bundle, If anyone wants to rally up on PS4 feel free to private message

  • Bought dmc, dmc4, sleeping dogs and saints row 4 for 73$. Bargain!! Let's see if I ever get a chance to play them all.

  • Just bought FIFA 16 super deluxe edition $54.95
It comes with 8000 fifa points, anyone knows how to redeem these fifa points?

  • What, no Battlefront love? Just 48 credits.
