Cant buy another Nikon after seeing how cheap they were at the DSE sale.

    • +7

      let it go!

      • +1

yeah let it go, DSE do this to boost their self esteem in that they control people's lives, emotions, and future happiness.

        • +2

Let it go, let it go
          Can't hold it back anymore

Dick Smith tries to make us poor!

    • Could be wrong, but I think it was the older D3200 that was on sale with DS anyway.

      • correct. but the D5500 deal for $447 - $100 was awesomest :)

        • +2

Technically the 6D with the L lens for $800 odd was even more awesomerer! Or even the 7D MKII for $800.

But damn the D5500 was great at that price.

  • eftpos card looks like a TGG card.

  • Don't forget AMEX cashback.

It just links to the info, Im guessing they just havent updated the site yet

        • +1

          Quick, screenshot!

        • +1

@Hoju: Nono I mean the link OP gave, im waiting on the claim link as well

    • +3

I called TGG; the website isn't updated yet, likely tonight. They are recording transactions though, so if you buy it before the website is updated you should still be elligible for the pay less payback thing

      • Thanks dayran33 :) , assumed that was the case

  • +1

    Damn what a steal.

Been using this camera after the 20% ebay deal but even then with all the cashbacks and cashrewards it was $324.

Combined with the 50mm it's really a very impressive unit

  • YES, thank you TA, missed the last few deals.

Finally can get that camera for my girlfriend and her family !! :D

  • +1

Actually if you check the Nikon website they've changed the cash back for this camera to just $50! http://store.mynikonlife.com.au/dslr?gclid=Cj0KEQiAqemzBRDh2…

    • I input;
D3300 and chadstone Good Guys as my store and it said $100 redemption

      • +1

Weird. Because the website does actually say $50 Cashback for this model. Quick screenshot! :P

    • +2

If you attempt to claim, the only option is EFT $100.

      • +1

the offer last month was $5o, and the D5500 was $100 ….. check with the website of they have new offer or extended the old one.

I wouldn't depend on the store staff ….. it's all care but no responsibility, and their responsibility stops at selling the camera, cash back is between you and Nikon.

Nikon claimed I had wrong details as funds wouldn't transfer, they deducted $10 to transfter again ……

Read the offer on their website, don't depend on staff.

    so can anyone confirm if

    1. cashback is $100 or $50
    2. what is the good guys EFTPOS card? is it for buying at the good guys only or is it for buying elsewhere?
  • +1

JB camera store on Elizabeth St in Melbourne price matched

  • Is it online or instore, as cashback asks for a store location.

Same price on eBay but with postage… could we buy it there to use cashrewards?

    • The you won't get $50 EFTPOS card

      • So do I need to purchase online?

        • The $50 EFTPOS card, applies only for orders on GG website.
You can select pickup at store as well.

    • So if you purchase online, you may not be entitled to $100 case back?

      • +1

No your invoice will have store name that your shipment has been allocated to and you use that. Worked fine with the lens I bought from TGG with the Nikkor lens cash back offer

  • Dam only bought this at good guys 2 weeks ago for $7 more on ebay but no $50 card.

  • Was this up on the website earlier?

Just entered a claim using the Order number in the email I received as the docket number…

    • @Mattwilko - Have you received confirmation from TGG on your claim? I don't have an invoice number yet. Just an order number

      • Not yet…. I imagine they might open up on Monday/Tues

        • I've been in contact with TGG via pm on Facebook. They responded twice on Christmas Day within an hour of my two pm's. +1 for that. Great service.
They confirmed the order number becomes the tax invoice number. Based on that, I have submitted my claim & have since received a 'congratulations' email, so here's hoping.

        • @davidem:

Just picked mine up, Docket number is different from Web order number….
          My order no. 6004XXX
          My docket no. D0150XXXXX

Hope you get yours in time, cheers

Great deal TA, I was looking to get this exact model until my car ate shit.

  • +1

I want it but can't straight up afford it

  • +1

I think it would just be easier to price match at HN, pay with AMEX. Same final result.

    • Except you can use the extra $50 from amex anywhere

  • Great price, $25 cheaper than the officeworks deal

  • works out better than the previous TGG sale @ $298 after $100 cashback

  • Thx OP, purchased 1!

  • This is even better than Harvey Norman boxing day sale price of $442 ($442-$100 cashback - $50 Amex credit = $292).

    • +1

They have a Bonus on top: "BONUS CAMERA BAG AND MEMORY CARD (680759 , MB-SP32D/APC) + BONUS 200 6"x4" DIGITAL PRINTS"
But can't find anything about that Boxing day sale online, or Amex card. Do you mind linking?
Also you might save $25 less as well.

      • +1

I was in the store this afternoon and they were printing the new price posters. It was 442 but without all the extra bonus stuff.

      • oh yes $25 welcome voucher, then it would bring it down to $267. Not sure when Harvey Norman prices go online, may be midnight tonight or tomorrow night.
Update : looks the sale items will be listed here midnight :
        http://www.harveynorman.com.au/promos/hyc-2015

      • Any way to somehow also get that bonus stuff? :)

  • My order has been back ordered. Anyone had that before with TGG?

    • Oh man check out the lens deal, for the 50mm and 35mm that was posted a month or so ago.

Some guys had back ordered lenses with TGG and will be waiting until January before getting them. A wait of 2+ months.

      • Mmmm. Hopefully it works out better for me.

  • this or Canon 700D?

  • Damn too many good camera deals recently. Should I have one each?

  • I purchased the 70D for the dicksmith deal but it seems the D3300 has better results from DXOMARK and is $100 cheaper. Might sell the 70D and purchase the D3300.

    • I'll happy take the 70D off your hands

    • Forget about DXO, play with both and trust your own judgement

  • What state are u in? Pm me I'm interested in 70d

  • This or the NEX-5R which I also have…

      Professional photo quality VS convenience

      • -1

lol what are you on about? Both have APS-C sensors, so IQ will be the same. Sony also makes sensors for Nikon anyway.

  • When claiming the cashback, which store do i select on the Nikon website, as there is no choice of "ONLINE", only the physical stores?

    • your invoice will have store name that your shipment has been allocated to and you use that. Worked fine with the lens I bought from TGG with the Nikkor lens cash back offer

      • is this even if the camera has been delivered straight to your house and not "pick up in store"?

        • Yes hence the 'shipment' ie it is shipping. To my house. Straight there.

  • Bought one but tgg hasn't sent me a confirmation yet and my credit card already has payment

  • Purcahsed 24/12; backordered

    • Dis you get an email saying it was?

    • @sim; I didn't get an email. I made an account with goodguys website and that was what stated backordered.

The status changed this morning to active, I also received a call and picked up the camera today.

On the tax invoice on pickup the date is 26/12 (despite being paid on 24/12); this is because the tax invoice in generated on completion of the order rather than the pay date.

Called the good guys customer service number (1300 466 348); they issued me with a new dock number showing 24/12 to be the pay date.

The EFTPOS card has the goodguys logo on it but can be used anywhere that accepts eftpos (as per cust. service)

      • Same here for the receipt date.

Guess I need to call them for them to issue me the correct date invoice.

      • What did you write for the "Serial #:" section of the Nikon cashback?

        • @sjp; when you get the camera, look at the very bottom and there is a serial number. This number is different from the numbers on the box/packaging. I'm assuming this is the serial number they're asking for and is the one I used (I also sent a picture of the bottom of the camera in addition to the receipt)

      • just wondering why do you need the date of the tax invoice to be the 24th? is this relevant to the 50$ eftpos card or 100$ cashback

        • @tobi; 24/12 on receipt was for the $50 TGG eftpos card (had to be purchased between 24-26/12)
The 100 cashback has a wider window; not sure from when to when

        • @dayran33: ah that is so sneaky.. it says 8am on the 26th, gonna give them a ring tomorrow to change the date

  • I just recieved tgg email stating order was processing and the store specific to it has a number so I might call them tomorrow to confirm and be given the correct date as well. Had it delivered for 5.95

  • So I'm assuming this deal is expired now?

  • A little something from Mr Ken Rockwell:

    http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommended-cameras.htm

  • Cashback has been approved, anyone know when our $50 eftpos cards will be approved/sent out?

    • ditto. 10/10 nikon. 0/10 TGG no contact about the eftpos card

      • Nikon money already in my account, awesome!
