Black Diamond Storm Headlamp $69.95 @ Mountain Designs (Price Beat $62.95 @ Anaconda)

70

Not a bad last minute stocking filler. Original deal is at Mountain Designs who are selling the BD Storm for $69.95 (RRP $99.95), show that to Anaconda and they do their price match less 10% bringing the price down to $62.95

Just bought two from Moore Park, quite a few stock left. No idea about other stores, but the Black Diamonds aren't with the other crappy headlamps, they're typically behind one of the counters so you may have to ask.

Don't waste your money on these dude output to cost isn't worth it…

    • Is there a better headlamp at a better price that you would suggest?

      • Yea sure try some thing like the nitecore HA20 same price just better specs you can get better then this for cheaper but would have to Change battery type

    • Thanks @noise36 I'll keep that site in mind. Most of the models on there with >200 lumens have a rear battery which isn't comfortable or lightweight.

Yes you pay extra for the brand but this BD is waterproof and doesn't protrude much from the band compared with ones that have a focused lens, so as a general throw around headlamp it does the job.

      • http://www.dx.com/p/1-1-1w-white-led-red-3-mode-led-headlamp… $6 front battery and water resistant
http://www.dx.com/p/waterproof-cree-xr-e-r2-3-mode-white-lig… $11.50 front battery and water proof

I'm not endorsing this product or any others on the site, I have just found headlamp prices in Australia to be very high compared to ordering directly from china.

A while back I ordered one for myself for just under $20 and it was so much better than anything I could buy locally for under $100 it was ridicules.

        • Yea dx is a pretty bad website id buy from gearbest or fasttech first..

Remember a lot of the lumen reading are Chinese lumen meaning they overstate what the torch can actually do.

Brands I don't think diamond is up there with technology I would choose nitecore or jetbeam or olight over it because the quality is always spot on…

If you only care about lumens and nothing else then go look on ebay. If you really care about the UI and how you'll use it then these are excellent. And this is a good price for this model.

  • Another good option for good quality at good price are Sunree headlamps. Good UI and build quality and LED's and very well priced. I got myself a Sunree Ree a few months ago and have been very impressed. Single AA is easy to swap out, spotlight or flood and different levels. http://www.ledtorchshop.com.au/brand/sunree/
