Lol day one, year zero after watching…

  • Id be careful of this one because most of the tools open from the inside rather than the out. Large inconvenience…

I have a similar model myself. TBH i dont mind the fact that all the tools open from the inside. The main useful thing for me is the knife can be opened one handed without opening up the pliers. Those are the only 2 tools I use anyway.

    • What does this mean??

      • He means which way to tools pivot.
When in it's closed position (pliers on inside), only the knife I believe can be accessed. To use the other tools, you have to open into plier mode first.
Can be annoying for some if using one handed I guess?

      • If you want the screwdriver, you have to expand the arm out (essentially making the pliers) to fold the screwdriver out.

        • Ahh that makes sense. Never used these tools before

        • @cowiie: IMO it's better than a swiss army knife, mainly because you can open the knife with one hand. Depends what you use it for though, Leatherman doesnt have the same "features" like a corkscrew. I really only use the knife and the pliers.

Keep in mind it's generally illegal to carry any knife around with you too.Hence why these arent as popular in Aus

        • @Davo1111: so you can't carry this in your glovebox for emergencies? That's a shame

        • @cowiie: "without a reasonable excuse" the onus on you is to provide it and it be accepted by a magistrate.

I have this, paid 30 on clearance a while ago from Bunnings. Definitely worth it, makes similar priced alternatives look like garbage.

  • Any help on thw masters website for a first time user please. Always getting post code unab l e to deliever and tried heaps

    • What is ur suburb and Postcode?

      • Mine is 3183 and it shows 'delivery unavailable'

        • Unfortunately it looks like delivery is unavailable because it is out of stock at the warehouse, but you can still do click n collect from a store.

  • I can now add a post code but it's back to full price. Looks like it's finished unfortunately.

    • Discount is applied once you checkout

      • Ok. Cheers. It also said that only in store pick up is available, no postal or truck delivery avavilable. Is that likely to change soon?

        • +1

Unfortunately probably not, it will depend what stores and warehouses have it in stock to whether it is available for delivery.

I got one. I have 4 other Leatherman multi tools so I had a fair idea what I'd be getting from this one.

The pliers aren't spring loaded like the Wingman, but the knife is nicer, a plain edge (instead of combo serrated like the Wingman) - same steel 420HC. Since the price hike and USD strength, you're hard pressed to pick up any Leatherman for under $60 these days.

This is basically a pretty nice folding knife for $30 with decent (non spring) pliers and a few other light duty tools.

Despite some online reviews I looked at before hand, I don't see any considerable build quality differences between this and the Wingman.

I think if you are using this for the knife primarily, the Rev is great. If you prefer pliers and scissors, the Wingman is better, but twice as much money!
