Philips Bluetooth Sports Earphones SHQ7300LF for $39.95 C&C @ DickSmith eBay

560
COLLECT15

I've been looking out for a pair of sports bluetooth earphones for a while now, and when good ol' Dicky put this pair up for $47 at the start of the week, I nearly jumped on it then. But I decided to sleep on it for a couple of the days, and lo and behold, it popped up on the DSE eBay site, which means that with the eBay 15% off COLLECT15 deal thanks for mrbillions, the price drops to $39.95 when you click and collect. Cashreward's 3.3% cash back will drop the price down even further to about $38.50-ish, which for me is a really reasonable price, especially when Officeworks sells it for $129.95 and COTD has them for $99 before delivery. Admittedly, there isn't many reviews on them (in English anyways, managed to find some feedback on the French Amazon and Danish Amazon sites, which were a bit hit and miss), but at $38.50, think I'm willing to take the risk…feel free to let me know your thoughts if you have actually owned one of these earphones..

EDIT - Cashrewards has increased their eBay cashback to 5%, which will bring the price down further..

EDIT 2 - Seems like there are a few people getting their order cancelled, and/or finding it difficult to find stock anywhere…there are may still be stock somewhere if you try C&C at a few stores, but mods, please feel free to mark this post as "out of stock"…

  • Nice find. Thanks for posting. Limit 2 per customer. Some stores don't have the click-collect option for this item. I bought two, but had to try a couple of stores to get it to work.

    • No contact from the store after a couple of days. I was passing by so dropped in to see if I could pick them up. Staff told me they had sold them to another customer and had none more in stock. Most other stores out of stock too. I got a refund, but it screwed up gifts for two people that I now have to scramble around to find replacements for. Disappointing. Won't be trusting any offers from DSE again. Sick of getting Dicked about.

my order for C&C still hasnt been processed for 2 weeks..took my money though..

    • I haven't had too much issues with C&C, though admittedly they are taking longer than they used to…could these issues be store specific?

    • Mine too, heaphones for $11.60. I have sent 2 emails in that time and no response. Tried calling the store today and line is busy. Will have to go to the store later today, where I assume they will tell me they have no stock left.

It's only a small amount but absolute pain to have to chase it up

      • me too, showing in the order as not yet fulfilled

        • yeh, think I'll raise a paypal dispute..would like my money back at this stage

    • I called the store and they said they didn't have the item so they refunded me. I checked and the money was refunded on 9 Dec. Didn't send any email or call to let me know that, though.

And when I ordered it said that store had stock.

      • Same here

    • Same boat as you. got that gps watch and nothing.emailed for refund. Not dealing with these idiots anymore

  • Great post. Thankyou!

  • Bought this couple of days ago at $47! Do you reckon I can return those and buy new ones? I've never tried returning anything to DS

    • -3

7 days change of mind return at dickies

  • will make a cool xmas present for my nephew, thanks for the post!

  • bought one, thx!

  • Brought a pair earlier in the week when they were at $47…took them back 1 hour later as i couldn't get them to stay in my ears. Don't know if anyone else has had this issue?

    • yes it is quite common with ear bud types you need to find the right size. One suggestion is to push them in and then turn a little bit. If you are using comply foam ear buds, you squeeze the foam and then insert. I find these stay in much better and block out the noise as wel..

  • Bought a pair, keen to see how well C&C works

  • Hey does the COLLECT15 code work with shipping? Cause when I add it, it works but not sure whether i'll get charged extra later when they realise I didn't actually collect anything.

looking for a one of these but bad reviews here - http://www.amazon.de/product-reviews/B00R49DOJ4/ref=cm_cr_dp….

Can anyone share your experiences if you own a pair?

    • I bought these about a month ago. Have been generally impressed with Philips products in the past, but this one didn't live up to expectations. Cons: Lack of bass, earbuds are not that light so they can come loose, earbuds are also big compared to wired earbuds which means they stick out a fair bit from your ears. I returned these after using for a few days

      • I have bought them as a gift. anyways thanks for the input mate

  • +1

tried buying 2 at once, a couple times and ebay says it's no longer available? getting a checkout error saying: "These items are not available. They may have been purchased already, or the listings have expired."

Probably a good thing. Translated reviews say the bluetooth disconnects frequently and little to no bass:

    https://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http…

EDIT: I figured for the price, I'd pick up one for a gift anyway. 1 order seemed to go through okay via click and collect.

    • Im getting that error trying to buy 1 pair, tried another store for C&C and it worked

    • Yeah, as I pointed out my post, the reviews are somewhat hit and miss…the French Amazon site (as erusko has pointed) seems to be more favourable than the danish sites though. My justification - if I paid close to RRP, or at least around the $100 mark, I'd be far more critical about SQ etc, as it will have to compete with the likes of Plantronics, Jabra etc…but at $38.50, I'm not sure if there is any other Bluetooth sports headphones to compare it with, so I think it may be worth the risk. The only thing that would bother me is frequent disconnections, hopefully that won't be the case with my copy…

      • Could also be an issue from the device they're connecting from.

Ive bought a pair to use at the gym, got pickup confirmation I can pickup within ~2 hours of purchasing too.

        • Cool, be interested to know your thoughts on them…still waiting for my confirmation message/email…

  • I might wait for a better wireless earbuds on bargain (good review).
Any reccomendation for a good pairs?

      at this price, no

    • Plantronics Backbeat Go can be found sometimes on Gumtree. That is where I bought mine. I paid $55.

      • I picked up a set of Platronics Backbeat Go 2 for $50 after pricematching Exeltek (http://www.exeltek.com.au/plantronics-backbeat-go-2-headset-…) at JB Hi-Fi and then using the 20% off voucher when you buy a $50 gift card.

        • I have the Platronics Backbeat Go 2 - they have a 2 year international warranty and now you can get replacement earbuds from Comply Foam (if you buy on a credit card, depending on the type/brand you may be eligible for an additional 1 year warranty). Platronics have excellent customer service as mine were 2 weeks out of warranty and they would not charge. I called them and they happily replaced them with a new set within 2 days (I sent the old pair to Melbourne at my cost). I don't think I've even had that kind of customer service anywhere in Australia.

Below are links to the T-600 and Ts-600 foam ear buds:
          http://www.complyfoam.com/products/t-600/
          http://www.complyfoam.com/products/ts-600/

I've also tried the Chinese Bluedio bluetooth wireless rechargeable earphones - the quality of the sound is no where as good as the Platronics - then again they were US$12 including postage.

  • ok the question is why there is not many reviews in english?
hmm battery less than plantronic backbeat fit..
ah tempted but i have already one~~~^

  • Boom! Just got myself a pair with the 15% off and the cashrewards cashback. Click and collect from the Randwick DSE store. Happy Days! Thanks @Quiexo :-)

  • Good price, don't think you can workout with this earphones, it will fall off. Maybe walking is fine.

  • Can anyone who has collected them let us know what you think?

    • +1

I ordered it this morning, and 2 hrs later was ready for pickup :-)

They fit my ears nicely, the battery lasts 5.5hrs fr music playback and 150 hrs standby time (take these numbers with a grain of salt).

There is a mic, call waiting, redial and mute, fast-forward, skip…etc

The wire that goes behind the neck might be a problem, as it's flat (not round) and it may stick to the neck when sweating (I shall wait and see).

Overall, for under $40, it's a good value and I'm happy I got one.

      • What's the sound quality like? Going to pick mine up after work later..

        • couldn't hear much outside noise, and the sound was decent but not for the audiophile obviously, but for me it's good enough for gym.

      • Sounds good, glad I got them too. Wired earphones are quite annoying.

  • Doesn't look like I can buy one:

These items are not available. They may have been purchased already, or the listings have expired.

    • Try collecting from different stores. I had to split my order to be able to buy two

  • Great earphones and even greater price. A single charge lasts for hours. Been using it to play LOL the last 2 weeks and no complaints at all.

    • Do you run with them in? Wondering how well they hold in the ear.

      • Yes, was thinking the same, I prefer the once with a loop that can go around the ear like beats in this price range :)

      • Surprisingly they hold. The trick is in the little sticking out plastic that goes under your ears grooves.

      • Like youness935 said, surprisingly they hold. You need to get used to wearing them and make sure you have normal inner ear grooves. I know some people have "abnormal" ear grooves and this earphone is not recommended because the plastic part sticking out won't grip.

  • I'm in!
    Thanks @Quiexo

  • Do these have a mic or are they just earphones?

    • Does OW pricematch eBay items? Not sure whether they will price-match the $47 displayed on DSE website, or whether they can beat the price on eBay price with the COLLECT15 coupon code..

  • +1

Got one and used my Amaysim $25 voucher. 3 stores had no stuck, fourth one got lucky :)

  • Order got cancelled at the Dick Smith Broadway, NSW store. Now I have to wait for the refund to be processed. :(

  • Bought this one few days back https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223275, is the philips one better? the sony one is a lot bigger than this

    • Sony

  • +2

    not available anywhere.

  • Man I will be livid if my order gets cancelled as apparently you don't get vouchers back

  • It won't let me purchase keep coming back error.

    • after selecting different stores by trial and error, one store that is 1 hour away from me was successful, all the stores close by are error error error

      • Yeah there doesn't seem to be much stock around. My order said it should be ready tomorrow morning, here's hoping. Don't want to lose my $25 voucher,

  • +1
  • Mine is cancelled and refund by Dick

  • Showing "These items are not available. They may have been purchased already, or the listings have expired." after paid by paypal, Anything wrong?

    • Think it's store dependent, may have to try a few different stores to see if C&C is available…if no one is able to get anymore, I'll mark it as expired…

Picked mine yesterday, and I'm quite impressed by it! Fits my ears quite well, and bass is definitely not as bad as some have mentioned here (for my taste anyways)…definitely worth the $38-plus outlay..:)

    • I just had the same thing happen. I tried for click and collect at Parramatta NSW. Not sure whether to try again for another store but none of the stores are showing stock, just 'ships to store'.

      • +1

Yes they all say ships to store. Just a matter of finding a store which doesn't give an error on checkout. Took me four tries. And I just got notification to pick up now :)

Haven't got a cashrewards tracking receipt yet though

        • I didn't have any error checking out with my local dick smith but just got a call from them saying no stock and so they refunding the amount. Looks likes it's sold out everywhere.

        • +1

@robinsmca: These guys really do not know how to do business properly. In ebay they show picking up available in all stores. In reality only very few of the store will allow you to check out. In utmost reality, none of them have stock at all. I remember several years ago I complained to one store staff , he told me that dicksmith online and dicksmith stores were ran by different companies, if I have question about the online price, I shall ask those guys not these guys. WTF, I hope one day amazon could enter Australia and kick these and those dicks out.

  • So mine was cancelled but i did another purchase click and pick in another store and was surprised it worked however i will see 2 charges and one refind much later putting PayPal in credit.

  • I had toombul store in brisbane call me yesterday afternoon to say they were out and couldnt get any from another store either but would have some come in in january and would contact me for them then so i can still have them at that price or refund now.

I chose wait til jan. Wonder if that was a bad idea if ppl talk about dick smith going out of business…?

    • +1

Don't worry. Even if dicksmith vanish in Jan, you will be still covered by paypal.

  • Just picked mine up.. it is the SHQ7300OR which is the same as far as i can tell. They had heaps of stock on shelf too.

  • Got one. Wouldn't let me get two even though when I picked it up there was one more left on the shelves. Annoys me a bit because I really like this product. My first bluetooth headset. I love the wirelessness (duh!) and I like the sound. Audiophiles are free to disagree. I think this product is worth buying even at $47 instore. Thanks to Quiexo.

    • On the barcode does yours also say SHQ7300OR? I paid the $47 on eBay as I used my amaysim voucher, but receipt says $39.95.

      • Yes, that's what mine says.

  • These headphones are really disappointing. There is bass in them but you have to hammer them into your ears to hear it and that's with smallest silicon buds. I'm not one to criticise a bargain but these are very ordinary headphones. If you want the novelty of bluetooth then you can't get anything in this price range, but if you enjoy music then these are the same quality of a very cheap set of headphones ($5 equivalent). I'm going to search for some Plantronics which seem to get better reviews. I don't know what I'm going to do with these, after trying them for 10 minutes they are back in their box and I wont ever use them again.

Apple earpods or Samsung earbuds are better in sound quality than these.

Bottom line: Cheap but below average sound quality.

    Tony

    • Not trolling, but isn't that the whole point of in-ear earphones, that it securely fits in your ears not only for sound isolation but also for it to sound it's best? Granted the main problem is getting the fit right, which I am fortunate that it fits me just fine…

  • You have to tailor your ears to the ear buds, try pulling your ears in a little.

  • has anyone received them off C&C ?
if I can't have them before xmas I might as well cancel them

    • I have, confirmation came through for collect them a day after I put my order in…

      • I ordered on friday and it says my order is being prepared

  • +1

Another order here cancelled by the Dick

  • Finally got my click and collect email to pick these up today. Went to the store and saw the same model on the shelf selling for $149!!!
