  • It seems demand has gone down. I purchased the elite $600 bundle at EB thinking I might be able to sell the controller for $250, would be lucky to get $170-180 now (I wanted the hybrid drive wasn't fussed with the controller). Also ROTTR has gone down in value (I only wanted Halo so the codes that came with definitive edition I sold for $50 when two weeks ago they were selling for $70-80)

Should have gone for the $400 1 TB deals! I haven't played with the controller but just by picking it up it seems heavy and the swappable parts aren't worth it IMO but others out there obviously value them.

    • That's weird. Because MS has said they couldn't keep it in stock. Maybe they just didn't make that many of them?

ROTTR going down in value for a game released so recently is just sad news.

    • I got the EB games mad Monday elite bundle + 4 games (ROTTR, TR definitive ed, Halo 5, Fifa 16) for $600. Sold the elite controller on eBay on the 15th for $249. Scored a $49 delivered shopping express xbone controller a couple of weeks back.

All in got the 1tb sshd + 4 games + a controller for ~$425. I think I was lucky with the timing selling the elite controller though, as it was out of stock at EB and on the MS store when I sold it. That said, heaps of people pay over the odds on eBay. Especially if you're willing to sell to overseas customers.

      • I don't have a high enough sales rating to sell to overseas. I would love to, but it won't appear on their local ebay sites, just AU, so no one will see it.

        Good deal you scored though.

Better come with a free Xbox at that price.

  • -6

Double what I paid for my entire xb1

    • +4

      $99? How?

        • +1

          Dick Smith?

    • Why did it take you 11 hours to neg this? Could it have something to do with your down votes (none of which came from me, by the way)?

  • It's a good price considering people have been buying them for close to $300 as MS store has been out of stock. Also considering the bundle costs $600 it makes sense the controller is that expensive. Whether the hybrid drive is worth $350-400 is another matter.

    • considering you pretty much need an external regardless with the Xbox One, it's probably the better console bundle to get if you want the controller more than anything…

  • +1

So this controller is 4x better than the regular controller?

    • 3.60xOne better

  • +4

this isnt a bargain as it's been $149 a week ago with free shipping.

    • a week ago ? are you sure?

    • Are you sure that's not in USD?

      • -2

There was 25% off Xbox games and accessories on the 10th through the MS store, this was part of their 12 days of Christmas sale

        • +3

          Only it wasn't in stock.

        • -1

The discount didn't include the elite controller…..

        • @Ryxxi: Technically it did, it's just that there were no elite controllers to buy at the time.

        • @SaintBen:
Not online, but actually it was in their Sydney retail store. I bought one myself for $149 that day and there were 10+ left at the time.

        • @kirbasin: I see. Being in Melbourne, I haven't been following that store's stock. If it has stock again today, this deal may not be a bargain to some Sydneysiders, but to anyone else in Australia who wants this controller ASAP, this is the cheapest way to get it.

        • @SaintBen: I bought one during their 25% off xb accessories sale during the 12 days of xmas promotion and it was 199.95 for me. I asked live chat and they said " at this time the discount does not include xbox one elite controller' I am pretty sure you got it mixed up with something else. I received second controller from freeshipping tech for $144. So I returned the xbox controller..can show you my invoice if you don't believe me.

        • @kirbasin: This would make a lot more sense.

        • @SaintBen: It was still part of the sale…try reading instead of replying too fast :)

        • @Ryxxi: It's cool, man. I do think we're talking about different deals. The page I've linked to today recently had a red bar at the top saying it was discounted (I think it was 25%, but I may be wrong), but there was no stock. If I'm not mistaken, this would have been after you bought it from MS.

        • @Tal_Shiar: Don't know what you're getting at, man. I never said it wasn't part of the sale. In fact I implied the opposite.

        • @SaintBen:

I see. Being in Melbourne, I haven't been following that store's stock. If it has stock again today, this deal may not be a bargain to some Sydneysiders, but to anyone else in Australia who wants this controller ASAP, this is the cheapest way to get it.

A bit off topic, but why are Sydney residents called Sydneysiders? In Melbourne, we are called Melbournians. So how did they decide on the term Sydneysiders over Sydneyians?

Does anyone know what residents of other capital cities are called? Perthsiders? Brisbanians? Adelaidians? Hobarters? Do terms even exist for those cities?

    • This item was virtually impossible to get outside of eBay (and well above RRP) a week ago and apart from this deal, that's still the case now.

      • The bubble will burst eventually, and then the RRP will drop (or at least the going price), once the demand from the (limited) target audience has dried up. Clearly the controller wasn't made for everybody. It was priced for the hardest core. Once everyone who wants one and can afford one has it, the prices will drop and the scalping will stop.

  • +1

This is the RRP, no bargain here

    • Free express shipping on an item not available in stores is a bargain.

      • -2

Free express shipping on an item getting scalped on eBay and not available in other stores for 1.5 months since first released is a bargain

Bought, hope it arrives today XD

  • -4

Considering i purchased my titanfall kinect xb1 bundle for 200, i fail to see how this is a deal.

    • +2

It has Elite in the title.

      • -1

Yes. For a controller alone. At rrp.

  • +3

This must be a very special controller? , considering it costs more than half of the actual console ?? Special functions ? Or just cosmetic ?

    • -5

      clearly not a gamer.

      • +1

Clearly not a cashed up idiot =P

        • 1st - you assume i got one
2nd - having cash makes me an idiot? (no i don't have cash)

        • @pitufon:
He was just asking about the product and you put him down. I'm sure he's a gamer and the master race mentality doesn't help anyone. Nothing to do with cash - obviously it's a niche product but you obviously need more of a disposable income to see the value of such a device. I think the standard controllers are steep!

        • @spazattack91:

he/she was making a sarcastic comment.

besides you are the only one putting people down in here, by calling names

      • -2

Not much of a gamer if youre using an xbox

        • All hail the PC master race! I gave up on PC gaming because of DRM software totally destroying my experience.3 different DRM systems on several of my games made them unplayable.

        • -1

@spazattack91: Stop buying ubisoft games then

    • +2

      4x macro paddles, upgraded triggers.

For the avid gamer this is a real beauty, otherwise if you're playing Viva Pinata you won't get much more out of this controller.

    • +2

changeable analog sticks and dpad i believe and some gimmicky 'pedals' on the back of the controller.
in no way worth the RRP.

      • MS is just charging what the market will bear. Clearly enough people are happy to lay down $200 for a controller (not, me, though). Better off using that much cash for half a PS4 since multiplatform titles are generally better there and you then have more options for gaming, but people can buy what they like…

        • How do you buy half a PS4? Which half do you buy?

  • +4

How is $200 for a controller a bargain? I paid $220 for my xbox one w/ a controller and kinect.Bizzare!

    • +1

Lol. So did i (well $200). But i got down voted for stating that.

      • I commend you sir on your bargain!

  • Nice controller, got it along with the console and some other games in EB Mad Monday sale. I wouldn't pay that much for it though

  • Is that d-pad any good? Experience tells me that anything that isn't cross shaped is going to have accuracy or useability problems. See X360 and first XB.
