Hi guys, so my phone was stolen a while ago. I was being a naive, good samaritan and let him borrow my phone and he ran off with it. The police were able to identify and convict the guy of theft (he also had a record and had multiple other charges against him). He was fined by the law, but to get back the money for my phone, I was told I have to enforce some sort of warrant to make him pay. Does anyone know what the procedure is like and whether it's worth my time to try and get back ~$600? Any help on my rights and what I need to do would be appreciated! :)
Guy stole my phone and was convicted, but I have to enforce the warrant for its reimbursement?

If $600 is nothing to you then congrats, forgive and forget… otherwise I'd crack down and hunt the thief. Have you asked the thief to politely return the phone btw?
U can do but pretty sure thief account is empty to get back money unless u got content insurance. But yea u will waste time unless thief start work and pay u back or he still got your phone and will returned u back. But u can take action to prevent to happen others.
Is your phone trackable? If so find him and get your phone back
Small claims court? Probably not worth the hassle though.
don't bother, waste of time and effort
even if the order is made, he'll pay you back (or not) at $5 a week
you have the right to call bikies
